Nice. Video. I was ready to move from my Ram to 2024 F150 hybrid. Last minute discounts and test drive I purchased a 2023 lightning. I agree that your use case needs to fit. With the $7500 rebate applied to the lease it made sense for me to go ev. I live in Wisconsin and my kWh rate is 11 cents with a after-hour rate of 5 cents. I do not plan long trips and have two other gas cars. The frunk fits two sets of golf clubs and the one thing you did not mention is the ride. Independent suspension puts it on par with ram. I also have Alexus and a bmw x5 so my bar is very high. Towing is actually better for 10000 pounds or less than gas for shorter trips. At 6500 pounds the hybrid gas mileage gas to half and the ev about 60% so if your trip is around 150 miles or less they are the same. Winter you lose miles but not enough that matters. The ev actually is better warming up and my wife is even happy. Both trucks are a great. This is not win lose. What fits you the best. In the next few years there are some awesome trucks coming out from Ram, GM and Ford. After my lease who knows what my next move will be

Hey Jorge! Great video. I just purchased a pre-owned 2022 F150 Lariat PowerBoost hybrid and LOVE it! 22-27 mpg city driving in a full sized pickup is nearly unheard of. And 430 hp 570 lb/ft torque is crazy great. Motortrend's published 0-60 was 5.3 sec (fwiw) 👍. Cheers!

I own a 2023 F150 Lightning, Lariat extended range, and I love it! It is the best vehicle I've ever been in, let alone driven or owned. The biggest problem for me is traffic, all those slow-as-molasses vehicles out there in my way, because my truck can takeoff and be down the road before anyone even bats an eyelash. It is so smooth and enjoyable to drive, especially with that awesome full independent suspension (no leaf spring in the rear) and all wheel drive, and low center of gravity it can corner quickly. It's sure-footed, glides over speedbumps and potholes, there's no lurching and struggling like in gas-powered vehicles, the truck just smoothly and instantly rolls out and accelerates consistently. It's also quiet and music sounds so much better. It has the luxury and comfort of mid-range luxury sedans, the performance and speed of sports cars, the capabilities of trucks, and the comfort of grandpa's old Cadillac boat on wheels.

Joshua you hit it on the nail! The hate for EVs on the internet is outrageous. Exposure is the biggest component to it. I haven't seen anyone drive a Lightning and not smile. It is insane for a truck to move that quick and smooth!

Right? I already was supportive of EVs, but wow once I started living with my Lightning I fell in love with it. I have had to drive a gas powered car a couple times since and I absolutely dread and hate that. I've spent decades of my life driving stick shift cars and trucks and I do not want to go back now that I have my Lightning. I have even driven other EVs, like the Tesla Model 3, and the F150 Lightning is better than them too. I will never again drive anything other than an EV.@@Askjorgelopez

What does tx badge mean? Do you have a video discussing the ownership cost's of the powerboost vs a normal F150? I'm curious to know about fuel saving's.

There might be an idea for content me and my team always researching what would be the details our customers would like to hear. As far as getting detailed about ownership cost I am not too sure but badge meaning or how certain fuel savings is definitely a good video to delve into. Thank you for watching !!!

Hello , i want to ask you about something I don’t like about my truck . I have ford f150 XLT 2015 what I don’t like about it that when i open the door the light automatically open while the car is off and when i open or close the back door and the engine hood , i hope you can help with that , thank you ..

Nothing to do there... on the newer models there's a specific button for that but not sure if it is on the 2015. check on the ceiling by the lights

Another advantage of the hybrid F150 is in a hurricane or storms when the Powers out for days. You can still power your house on the F150 power boost and just go get more gas.

About the power grid, the fact is that EV charging accounts for very little of the power demand. Though, some states like Texas do have terrible outdated fragile grids, so that might be more of a concern there. Remember that massive long-lasting power outage across so much Texas a couple winters back? That was not because of EVs.

Used batteries are now going to recycling. The battery chemistry can be reclaimed, processed and then when reused are as good as new. In fact, it's a great investment opportunity as there are companies doing battery chemistry recycling that have shares available on the stock market. Also, there is the 8-year / 100,000 mile warranty on the batteries. Trade-in every 7 years and you can keep yourself under the warranty.

I know everyone likes to brag that their vehicle is faster I normally don't go from 0 to 60 in town where the speed limit is 35 or 45. Nor do I see how fast I can get from 1 stoplight to the next. I would probably go with a hybrid unless they get the infrastructure built to handle more EV's and I also worry about the fires associated with EV.

It's nearly ludicrous the way vehicle manufacturers engage in 500+ hp models. Remember the 70 & 80 emissions horsepower choked cars. Honestly how did we or the government allow this abuse of excessive fuel wasting? There are many online videos of wildly out of control HP runaways crashing and involving life ending crashes.

There have been a few EV battery fires out there, but there have been many gas and diesel engine fires out there. If vehicle fires are a big concern then EVs are the better choice because they statistically catch fire less. According to NTSB the rates of EVs catching fire is 0.3% compared to ICE (gas and diesel engine) vehicles catching fire at a rate of 1.05%.

Unless there's a major breakthrough in battery technology, EV is on life support. Hydrogen technology is catching up quick and it will make EV's less desirable than they already are. Hybrids are far superior as they get excellent gas mileage and offer great power. Thanks for the video Jorge! And with the hybrid you still get pro power on board and you need a petrol engine to be the generator.

If it wasn’t for all the political hype, we’d see true hybrids where the petrol engine is the generator! Instant torque of electric motors and minimal battery weight thanks to an engine running at peak efficiency just to provide the juice. Locomotives have been doing this for years.

The amount of energy it takes to make liquid hydrogen for hydrogen fuel cell or even hydrogen burning engines is ridiculous. It uses electricity to strip hydrogen molecules and then to compress them too. In fact, it's much less expensive to just put the electricity into the battery pack directly. With hydrogen cars generating electricity all you've done is shrunk battery capacity in order to put a generator onboard to recharge on the fly the small battery pack. Hydrogen burning engines are extremely dangerous as the heat generated is far, far above what gasoline engines produce. In any case, hydrogen for ground transportation is needlessly complex and convoluted approaches that are more wasteful. The use cases for hydrogen are few, and definitely do not include private surface transportation. Battery technology is constantly under research and development. They are far better than what they were even just 5 years ago.

Hauling and towing cuts range, sure, in the same way and to the same degree that hauling and towing cuts range. Gas powered ICE trucks lose precious miles per gallon when hauling and towing. You will go through gas much faster. That's just physics that has little to nothing to do with the kind of powertrain in the vehicle. The only advantage, at the moment, is with gigantic tanks holding hundreds of dollars worth of fuel you can get a higher estimated range on a full tank, so when towing and hauling cuts range there's more to cut from so there's more left over. Think this way, 30% of 300 miles leaves 200 miles but 30% of 500 miles leaves 350 miles. And, with RAM promoting a top range of 500 miles in their up-coming 1500 REV, Ford will likely offer F150 Lightnings in the next couple years with a top range of 500 miles also.

EV Advantage: When you’re charging, you can take a nap. EV Disadvantage: When you’re charging, you’ll have to take a nap. That really depends on lifestyle and what you need from a vehicle. But the reality is that batteries are what they are. An EV will be dead in 10yrs or less. And the battery will be toxic waste. No one will be driving 20yr old EVs, which is significant when you consider that most American households need used vehicles.
