Күн бұрынThis video is about how i removed the rear strut from a 1999 Ford Mondeo ST200 saloon / sedan. Applies also for Mistique, Contour models with same rear suspension. Will be installing new Bilstein B4 struts with Vogtland lowering springs. New strut mounts, dust boots and bumpers from KYB. Spring top plate Ford (retainer) refurbished. Also replaced the bolts for OEM Ford.

Lowered Mk1 with 18 inch wheels looks awesome. How low you'll go with it? I have -40mm but not impressed :)

Thx for the tutorial. Nice to see some videos on a relatively rare car like this. I need to change the front springs on my car. It's the same model. Is the procedure the same as in the rear?

It's not the same in the front as you should remove the lower arm ball-joint. Furthermore you could (probably should) remove the driveshaft nut, brake caliper to make it easier and safer. You can do it a couple of different ways but it's not anything special. It is a very similar procedure on many other cars. And a warning: the pinch bolt can be really difficult to remove if rusty so soak it in penetrating fluid and be patient if it's in bad shape.
