Thx for the tutorial. Nice to see some videos on a relatively rare car like this. I need to change the front springs on my car. It's the same model. Is the procedure the same as in the rear?

It's not the same in the front as you should remove the lower arm ball-joint. Furthermore you could (probably should) remove the driveshaft nut, brake caliper to make it easier and safer. You can do it a couple of different ways but it's not anything special. It is a very similar procedure on many other cars. And a warning: the pinch bolt can be really difficult to remove if rusty so soak it in penetrating fluid and be patient if it's in bad shape.

Yes it will affect alignment but in my experience it is most noticeable from vibrations and noise that you can get in lower gears as is said in the description. It probably depends on how worn it is though.

Nice video. Looking to install a towbar to my own Mondeo. At 08:15, is water entering really an issue? I've seen that most people route the cables through that hole, as this is the only way without drilling. How did you do it in the end?

Thank you. I have no issues with water so far. This is a spot that hardly can get any water. The cable is under the rubber plug, so if water would be flowing down, it will not enter the hole. But even water flowing down is rare i think becase there is a lamp above. Relatively well protected from water. I admit its not professionally done, but hey, its ok for me. :)

I wanna ask what's different between rear suspension for mondeo mk2 1.6 and st200 Because my brain is lost

Hi. The St200 one is with the sport suspension. Nowadays it really does not matter because you can't order anymore stock for st200 model. You can install both st200 and standard suspension on you mk2. They have same size. I recommend Bilstein B4 for sporty feel. Also I have lowering springs. -40mm Sedan and estate use different setup so this is the only difference i think.

Same happened to mine today so had to remove the sway bar for the weekend to get to work but what drill bits did you use and how long did it take to drill them out 😂

@@richardnorman1158 Sorry to hear that. Well, i used different size drills, started from smaller one and went on with bigger diameter. I used HSS-Cobalt drill bits. With brand new drill bits it will go faster, but i had already used ones so it took a while. Maybe 20 mins each :)

Nice. But you did skip the unmounting of the muffler and heatshield on the left side, the bolts are impossible to fit without doing this.

Hi. Thank you. Step 7 and 8 is basically what you are mentioning. I did not remove the heat shield completetly. I put a piece of wood between the body and the mufler to make space for my hands. But if someone has a helping buddy all you need is just to push the muffler down while putting the bolts in.

Yes. Lack of time and freezing weather outside makes it difficult. Dont have a garage yet, so its kind of an issue. Will try to make something of my old video material.

@@bonzaimolly Normally when replacing the srings you don't have to do anything to the subframe. Anyway the rear bolts of the subframe can a pain in the @ss.

Hello Mario. Thank you for your comment and that you follow the channel. Have you tryed contacting your shop where you bought the new battery? Maybe the battery has a faulty cell. Another thing that if you use your car not too often the "health" of the battery will go down. There are techniques to maintain rarely used batteries with recharging.

@@Mario14792 Well. Electrical problems are the worst nighmares. Difficult to solve. Yes indeed in V6 models the alternator failure is quite common and is pain in the @ss to replace. But usually it has some signs before it dies, like blinking battery lamp, or low voltage, etc. I would start from checking the easy things like lamps, bulbs etc, that you can easily see. For example in MK4 mondeo estate/wagon there is a common problem that the rear light bulb holder gets moisty and makes the connectors to rust. Therefore you will have short circuit constatly and it will drain the battery. Check the electrical windows, radio, lights, comfort module (is behid the glove box). Disconnect the comfort module and see what happens with battery voltage. Lastly take the car to an expert for electrical issues - they have the right tools and knowledge to find the fault.

I had the same or similar issue and for now I have simply pulled the fuse for the alarm/central locking and interior lights (you can still lock the rear doors from the inside). Water ingress and old wiring are usual culprits. For example the car might think doors are open or closed when they are not. Old alarm systems are also notorious for causing battery drain.

Hello. I beleive they are functioning the same. First of all you need to find the one the fits by its size / shape. There are round and square shapes. Usually they marked as 4D60.

Question regarding the wiring. Where is the fusebox for that? Is it in the rear where it's run to or does that wire need to be run to the front fusebox? Also is it just a connector or does it actually have to be wired in?

Dear Luke, thank you for question. Threre is a fuse box on the left hand side of the trunk behind the cover. You don't have to wire from the front one. Please note that you have to install a canbus module for the towbar. It is either in comes with with the towbar or you have to buy it separately. Also for your information there is a connector behind the cover of the right hand side of the trunk, specially designed for OEM module. So if you buy a Ford OEM module form another Mondeo, you can simply plug it in. Mine was an aftermarket one, and was installed by a specialist.

I just came across this old video while doing some research on some parts for the jeep liberty I just bought. I just watched it and I literally almost said the exact thing word for word. I haven't tried this method to remove it yet, but It doesn't make any since at all why the the disconnect is so obscured. I wouldn't have even thought twice about it though normally, I would just assume he sucks at filming. But the dude looked like he was doing sleight of hand the whole time....
