Thanks for the video, very interesting. I wish the guys who custom tune diesels weren't taking the piss with how much they charge for what is essentially upping the boost and returning afrs back to stock.

I fitted one (uk). Mid range price. I thought it improved crispness and a little power but had a dyno done. It actually turned out to be worse than original! But tuned on the dyno made amazing difference!

Forscan is showing you what the chip is telling the ecu, not what actual pressure is. If the ecu thinks pressure is low it will increase injector pulse width to compensate. In other words it is simply fooling the ecu into adding fuel. EGT's would increase, the ecu would likely notice this and correct for it over time. Diesel's don't knock when they're lean, they just produce less power.

Injector knock as if the combustion pressure leak back into the rail? or you mean as the diesel didn't atomise well when it being injected into the cylinder?

as what is shown in your data, maybe that chip is not for gaining power but its for saving fuel consumption by supplying lesser fuel at the same rpm than without the chip? just my thoughts on it🤔

Those numbers are the computers asking for not the actual rail pressures is that correct?

Better to get an overall tune as the excess fuel creates black smoke. I had one of these.

@abandonedautomotive love the video's your EGR video help me get my 2013 Mazda bt50 back on the road. Now I have this weird bug where I'm driving and will go into limp mode and then a cog light will go away but still no power intel i turn off and on again inter cooler pipes are brand new. happen again few days ago I pull over while still running and plugged in my OBD2 scan an scanned for codes but there was nothing to report would getting the stuff for Forscan have a better chance of capture it in a log or dynastic log if forscan has this feature and try and get it to go into limp mod again. any insight will be helpful thanks you cheers Luke.

A sticky EGR valve can do this. Even when blanked, if car registers fault with valve it will go into limp mode. A EGR delete cable is a work around as it stops the valve from activating

Got my cable for forscan on Friday plugged it in an scanned for codes there was 2 one was Code: P0089 - Fuel Pressure Regulator 'A' Performance. With the fuel pressure I did the test you done is another video with the 3 values both read identical and the rail sensor was 0.9 at idle. So not sure why there is a code if working correctly Code: U0401 - Invalid Data Received from ECM/PCM A This, well I'm no auto electrician :( so I have no idea where to look Im aware of the cable on top front of the motor but that has had hard plastic put on it to stop rubbing from previous owner. Maybe that EGR cable might be worth a try. Would be nice to drive more then 50km from home an not being worried about it going into limp mode. Thanks for all the help hope I can get to the bottom of it.

if you clear the code, and get the fuel pressure regulator code come up again, i would change the regulator, they are only $100

Buy iDrive throttle control I'm pretty sure that increases fuel gives you quick acceleration

Your conclusion is backwards. The fuel rail reading you were getting was only what the ECU was reading from the rail AFTER the interceptor chip. You said it yourself at the start of the video, all it does is trick the ECU into thinking the rail pressure is lower than it actually was. The knock you experienced was from running rich. You won't get much in the way of injector knock from running lean in a diesel.
