Ford Transit Kamper and Hanomag Henschel. Custom restoration of 1970s Siku models.

Siku is a leading German manufacturer of die-cast models. In today's video I dealt with two very popular models: Ford Transit Kamper and Hanomag Henschel delivery van. Both models were produced in the 1970s in different versions. I bought them at flea markets and decided to renovate them. It is practically impossible to find spare parts for Siku models, so I had to improvise a bit. I used similar parts that I had and that's why today's restoration is called Custom. I also made boxes for these models so that they could be complete again. Thank you for watching the video, I publish car repair videos on Tuesdays and Saturdays. You can turn on subtitles in your language with commentary on the activity in the video.

You really are a master of coming up with solutions for impossible situations. In the case of Siku, it gets even more diificult to replace parts due to their weird choice of scale - in between "normal" Corgi/Dinky-scale and Matchbox 1-75s. Majorette seems to fit the best out of all options existing, so very good that you happened to have spare kayaks from them to use for the camper. I was quite surprised to see the sloppy placement of wheel tampos on the camper, not what you'd normally expect from Siku, and I agree with your decision to replace them.

So much work had to be done for these custom restorations. The "door" ordeal, kayak fabrication, cargo configuration, and more. The wheels on these Sikus were underwhelming. No rims and tires. Your prep, color selections and application were great. While a Siku may have it's charm, Solido, Dinky English and French, Corgi, and Mercury are superior in every way IMO. Perhaps I'm being too elitist, but your superlative process and skills deserve better clay to make bricks.The Truck's box was a real challenge as well. Great job, Maestro.❤❤😊

Sehr schöne Arbeit, aber ein paar Fehler sind auch dabei. Beim Ford: Die Herstellung der Türe war hervorragend, aber sie hätte sich auch öffnen lassen müssen und die Radkappen haben auch ein anderes Design. Beim Hanomag ist die Ladung zwar sehr gut gewählt, aber bei einer Restauration sollte diese auch original sein. Aber wie gesagt, ansonsten fantastische Arbeit.

Ford Transit damals mit Ruderboot/Kayak auf dem Dach und Hanomag mit Planenaufsatz und Anhänger... (abgesehen von der Heizöltank-Ausführung). Den Ford Transit gab es damals auch als orangen Schulbus u. Polizei in weiß...

The transit is the long wheel base twin rear wheel model it has the correct rear mud guards for the twin wheels not single wheels

I have an idea for a conversion. A South American company created a station wagon version of the 1952 Studebaker (there's a photo of it in one of the books on that marque), and I get the idea that you could make one of these with the Dinky version of that particular model. Up to the challenge? (I'm sorry to have to comment like this but I don't know how to get in touch with you personally.)
