Forced 6 community dyno day held at Springy Performance saw quite a few Ford Falcon XR6 turbo's in attendance. These cars are one of the best bang for buck factory turbo ever produced. As you can see from this video bolt on power provides ample gains over stock. Factory power is by the Australian 4L twin camshaft straight six commonly known as the BARRA engine.

Hello internet mechanics. Im the guy with the fg with 280kw on a standard tune. The only mods to this car are 35/40 stock BA turbo Pwr intercooler and piping 4inch turbo side intake. Only runs 9.8psi then bleeds down to 6psi as all the factory ones do. Car runs a consistent 11.8afr and does not overboost. I did think the dyno was out untill a few cars after mine. A 100% standard 6.2 LS3 ve hsv senator auto only made 219kw. So if the dyno's 40kw too high would that make it 180kw LS3? Dont think so. Not saying the 280kw is accurate but how many people have bothered to dyno their fg turbo's after bolting on better parts. Its usually bolt on parts then straight to the tuner. Feel free to say what you wish but it is what it is. Haters gunna hate.

95nfghia Just an after mod dyno doesnt mean much too, your car may have made 250+kw on Springy Motors dyno so its hard to judge on just an after dyno. We all know their dyno reads generously too... good numbers though with all said and done.

With a BA turbocharger those figures will be correct. The BA compressor is more efficient at higher mass flow rates.

If you guys imported them like we do with your v8s, we might be able to keep making them. No doubt we will be throwing them in mustangs soon since our local cars are being finished up. At this rate, we'll have one in a stang before you guys import an engine

3:55, 350-380 with standard turbo and upgrade injectors and fuel pump. Absolutely dreaming.

AFAST1 had some slight detonation after peak torque or so by the sounds of it. Mic was just picking up - not massive but just enough to hear it.

At that power level almost any engine is going to need to be fully built. with light mods i agree with you 100% but when making anywhere near the power of the VL or even the ED for that matter there will be quite a bit of money involved.

My Barra is at 398 RwKw , however i should have left it when it was 340ish .. blown head gasket now , trans slipping , lifters & timing chain noisy , ,, ruined a nice car ...

Should go back to the old taxi pack sohc au engine , there’s one making 1200hp , barras are overrated when it comes to overall reliability.
