Just my humble opinion, but I think Lou is one of the greatest vocalists of all time, in ANY music genre.

I saw Foreigner in Albany, GA for their first concert on the Agent Provocateur tour March 9, 1985. They were absolutely amazing from beginning to end. The Civic Center oversold tickets for it and the A/C units went down before they even took the stage. It was screaming hot in there, but being the professionals they were, they gave it everything they had. I think all of them were drenched with sweat by the 3rd or 4th song. That's one of those concerts that you just won't ever forget!

Know who got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year? The Go-Go's. Know who is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? FOREIGNER!!!! This injustice must come to an end. C'mon Rock and Roll HOF....this is ridiculous........

How profound when kathy says "you cant get through the day without offending someone" Little did she know how awful the world would become....
@cologniano_dsolfactorycame5772 Жыл бұрын
Amen to that! I can’t believe how profound your comment is too. I didn’t expect to see it viewing a video from the 90’s. This world is awful and it always helps to dial back and remember when we were in a less virtual place. Technology has doomed mankind….

i agree Lou has a 17 gear bike, and all the others are working on 2 gears. Steve Perry had that also at his peak, and Paul Rogers, the greats could always turn it on when they needed too.

They’ve been my favorite band since I saw them in ‘78 on their “Double Vision” tour. I saw them 3 times in ‘82 on their “4” tour. The first concert on the “4” tour is still the most memorable day of my rather lengthy life. Remember it like it was yesterday.

The lyrics for the Song "I want to know what love is" came to Mick Jones at 3 am in the morning. Mick said the song came to him "apparently from a higher power". A higher power indeed. Adonai!

Mick apparently was selfish sharing song- writing credits, and Lou has become a lot more vocal about it lately, and rightly so. There is NO Substitute for Lou, imho!
@waltersimmons9462 жыл бұрын
Actually Lou was vocal about Micks selfishness back in the 80s too. It started when the band cut down from 6 to 4 members during the making of the 4 album. After "AGENT PROVOCATEUR " tour ended. Mick took six months off stead of the usual 3 months. Lou took advantage of that "vacation " and put together "READY OR NOT" "Midnight Blue" was a song Lou presented to Foreigner but Mick trashed the song and was rejecting Lous other songs so Lou put them on his solo album. Mick and the band was shocked and pissed how well received Lous album was received and Actually Mick tried to stop the album from being promoted but he failed. MIDNIGHT BLUE was the most listened to song in 1987 it charted at #5 on Billboard. Long Hard Look did well too but Mick was still selfish and Lou left for good in 1990 . Foreigner was in panic mode. If you see clips of Lou on KZfaq back in 1990. Called "Lou Gramm live performances " its easy to see, he was happier with his solo band than with Foreigner. He even said so at one time back then. I never thought his singing ability was limited to Foreigner anyway. He was a songwriter and a drummer before he ever heard of Mick Jones.
@waltersimmons9467 ай бұрын
If Mick really wants to make things right with Lou. Give Lou the 50% royalty ratio he's due for his contributions to "I WANT TO KNOW WHAT LOVE IS" Lou did far more than just arrange his vocal take himself with the help of the studio engineer.
@seanhammer62962 жыл бұрын
Mick Jones took 100% of the royalties for that song and gave Lou Graham nothing. That's what led to their break up. Lou quit.

I gotta let you all know something.....I went to a Steve Perry sight and they were raving on how great s singer he is. Steve Perry does not have the INTENSITY and SOUL that Lou has. They were saying that Perry is probably the best rock and roll voice. Unbelievable! Lou Gramm is sorely UNDERRATED! There is no comparison between Perry and Gramm. Lou and Foreigner need to be in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Stupid politics and favorism and popularity.....all ya gotta do is listen to that beautiful voice and know that there is no other voice out there that even compares to Lou. Love you, Lou! Rene 🌺

Saw them live in 81 (or 82?) at Day on The Green in Oakland and was disappointed. They were headlining but sounded like a bad garage band. Though typically what you got bitd when you combined newly found massive success with (i suspect) backstage overindulgence, i.e. coke and booze. Here in this video, Lou Gramm restores the faith. I mean, holy &*$#!
