I hadn't seen forged carbon adhered to a printed form. Thanks for sharing your process! Separately, the printed head by itself was a pleasing sculpture; maybe a ceremonial mask from an alternate timeline. 😸

I really wish there would be different colors with the same crystalline texture effect as "forged" carbon, a deep metallic blue would make an amazing top layer

If you're working with your own 3D model it could be worth doing a simple UV unwrap of it and using that as a stencil to cut your fibre to fit before you try to wrap it. The mapping will make it fit the 3D form perfectly. Just like a texture would in the computer. It would eliminate the awkward relief cuts and overlapping of the flat sheet.

one trick for loose bristle hairs is to CA glue the base of the bristles beforehand to lock them in.

Going from the fact that the potato has add-on parts I assume there's holes to stick those parts in so wouldn't it be a lot easier and less messy to shove a stick in f.e. the hat hole at the top so you can hold the body or set it up straight? And shred the carbon into small pieces put them in a tray, dip the body into resin and roll it through the shredded carbon, like the way they make candy apples.

The R-bond forged fabric doesn't kick up fibers like a bag of loose chopped carbon would. When sanding, absolutely wearing a mask.

Large room with ventilation. Also this particular epoxy resin cures very slowly and doesn't fume the place up like some others. Maybe respirator still a good idea though, I don't know.

@@LindyDesignLab Thank you for considering a respirator, I love resin and all the things, but please take care of you first. It's difficult to film with a traditional respirator, sure, but worth it no doubt
