Reviewing the Huawei Matebook X Pro 2023, one of the best ultraportable laptops with smooth 13th Gen Intel performance and a glorious 3K display. The Huawei Matebook X Pro 2023 is an iterative update, so don't expect many upgrades vs the 2022 model if you already own that notebook. But newcomers will love this skinny, lightweight laptop, from creators doing photo and light video editing to mobile workers.
Battery life is improved over last year's Matebook X Pro, but it's still the weak point here - you won't quite stretch to six hours of play, even if you're doing basic office tasks. Still, Huawei's ultraportable laptop is incredibly portable, and ideal for keeping you entertained on the go.
That crisp and colourful screen is bright enough to comfortably use outdoors, while the speakers are pleasingly powerful. The Intel 13th Gen CPU can cope with any app and even handle some recent games like Serious Sam. And I'm also a fan of the Huawei Matebook X Pro 2023 keyboard, which is comfortable to type on all day.
Networking is excellent and the design is rugged as well as compact. So I'd recommend the Huawei Matebook X Pro 2023 after using it for the past couple of weeks.

I've been using the first Huawei Matebook X Pro (2018 model) for almost 5 years now and I can say its is an excellent machine for those who want a fast and thin portable laptop that can do any of your daily windows needs. It can also handle gaming decently. It has not given me any problems or broke down on me whatsoever since having it. A truly reliable machine. 👍👍👍

I would beg to differ, my one from 2018 left sound had gone. (and including the headphone socket. (that's a Silicon failure!) battery is still utter shit since after 6months old. Dropped on floor from bed by my Son and cracked the screen, destroyed use of touchscreen now. the M.2 SSD had to be replaced from new. turned out after I upgraded later the M.2 does not seat properly and spacing inside is not great. Memory soldered is a disaster, my 8gb now is piss poor in modern apps I need to use. Even basic Photoshop and One others hits the swap file like a barstard. But it's still alive and working so and does a lot more work than most people would expect to do on a Laptop. So it' 32gb for my next model. Anyone need a use one?

I had a bad experience, loved the look, feel, sound, touchscreen and connectivity. Processor and graphical grunt was capable too...BUT.... The fans were constantly on with even the simplest of tasks. It was often too hot to touch or leave on my lap. It could handle gaming like City Skylines but the heat and loud fans ruined it. And battery life was pretty bad, 4-5 hours, even for simple tasks like surfing the web and media.

Unfortunate to hear that. Yes the fan turn up when using demanding workloads, but in light usage like office apps, my unit is silent. And battery life is unreliable on my machine given it is old. So, I use it plugged to the outlet all the time. But in my years of daily usage (home or in the office), I've never had any problems with it or any components breaking down on me. So I'm just giving it its due credit (on my particular unit, at least). So it may not be the same to everyone based on their usage or other circumstances. Hope it helps.

Same. I've been using the Huawei matebook x pro 2018 every single day and it's never broken down and lagged (it just gets hot when I'm using it while it is charging)

My 2018 x pro’s battery lasts for 2 hours on heavy use. And laggs like crazy on websites. Have reset the device multiple times.

Despite all the negative press, I picked up my first Huawei Matebook X Pro 2019 around 2020. it's an Amazing machine - nothing short of Dell XPS 13 I've always been using. Well Done Huawei!

Do you face any charging or battery issues ?? Cause i bought a dell one around 4 yrs ago and now it requires constant charging while in use, it shuts down if you remove the charging cable

@@mariammusheer191I suggest you buy a new battery for your dell xps 13. I had the same issue with mine, but since changing the battery to a new one, my Dell runs for hours without the charger

I love it, but you don't seem to get the benefits of products made by apple or Microsoft. I was trying to see if I could buy the 2024 on website but it was hard even navigating the website so gave up.

I bought one of the 2018 models (I think 2018?) when they were on sale in the States. It seriously couldn’t be beat for the price. I think maybe paid $1100 USD and it had touch screen, 512 ssd, 16 gb ram, etc. Huawei lowered the price for the US market to try and break into it. Fantastic deal and I actually just fired it up today. It’s a true shame that Huawei products got the ban because the phones and laptops are really nice. When I take my Matebook X Pro out to places, I get a lot of shocked faces and people actually come up to me asking where I got a huawei laptop from, etc. It’s one of those brands that Americans always hear about but never actually seen before. Even in Canada I would get the same reactions from folks. Great video and thanks for sharing it with us

Great Ultrabook, but there are few downsides in this device as premium Ultrabook type: 1) Webcam quality is below expectations 2) Anti-reflective coating only in premium edition, which isn't obvious at all and very strange. 3) 32gb ram version has limited availability. 4) 90Hz should be activated automatically at least on charger, for this class it's weird to just hide it in advanced display settings.

Nice wishful thinking, Chinese made processors were never meant to be made for peasants like you, it's politically motivated, with tons of bureaucratic corruption, the final products are mediocre at best but selling at a premium price. Even most hardcore Chinese nationalist wouldn't pay for it.

They are shipping Linux notebooks with the Deepin distribution, I think it's more likely that they will continue using that one instead of Windows or porting HarmonyOS. Looking forward to seeing this laptop with Loongson CPUs as well, mate!

Hi. Another user with major buyer's remorse issues. Just got this brand new 32/2 Ink Blue for a ridiculously low $1120 here in RU after holidays discounts/cashbacks/rebates/whatnot. Still looking at the sealed shipping box thinking sell it (at a profit for sure) and get a MacBook Air with it's fantastic battery life or rip it open and glue the charger to the lid of the Huawei. I mean, at this price.... But then again, five hours of normal use battery life ?! Ugh... Help! Thanks

If you're into software programming and you also like messing around with music production, I'd go with the M1/2 chips. Apple's whole core audio, the quiteness, the battery life and how stable everything is just takes everything up a notch. It's on a whole different level.

Agree. The even the M1 with 16gb ram is a beast. I have an Asus G14 AMD R9 4900HS and the M1 mops the floor with it on code compile. The best I could do was around 20 seconds compile. The M1 on a Macbook air(so no fans) compiles in 6 seconds... And it runs basically cold, while mine in summer time now can't go below 80C. Used to bash on Apple but those CPUs are beasts.

@@Jenavee26 if money is not a problem the mbp 16/512 M1 or M2 is the best option for musicians. No more issues with windows DSP timings, crackling audio and badly programmed ASIO drivers. enjoy quiet recording and the trackpad is also the best you can find 👍

if you want that get a normal pc but custom make it from the builder or buikd it your self. if you want someone else to make it go fof China/America. depending where you are those 2 countries and the talents you wikk find there will make you a machine you will have for a good while. and its also around the same price for better !

The laptop is only sold with this blue ink color... it cost 2000€/$ but you cannot choose the color of the laptop, just outrageous. For me it has to be light grey or dark grey but never I will buy the color presented here. I guess I now have to buy the Macbook Air instead...

I have a 2019 Matebook 13 .. (was) very happy with it until I was travelling. It is now my backup as I switched to Macbook Air 15 because of battery life (no more plug in anxiety when on the go). The display was awesome on the Matebook though.

I purchased a MateBook X Pro (2019) during the pandemic and used it for less than two months. Subsequently, I left it in China and was unable to return due to the government closing all borders. It took three years to retrieve it, during which it remained locked in my room. Three months after its return, it began experiencing numerous issues, primarily related to overheating. In summary, after using it for a total of less than six months, the laptop has become inoperable. Huawei has shown no concern, as the warranty has expired. This is particularly frustrating because I was prevented from returning sooner and addressing the problem due to restrictions imposed by the Chinese government. This was the most expensive computer available in China, and I had invested all my savings into it. Now, it's unusable because I can't even access Windows due to a hardware issue, likely caused by the overheating. This has been the biggest regret of my life.

I couldn’t bare MacOS Switched to Asus S13 OLED Battery life is not near a Mac but this laptop did do 12 hours continues video playing test from Chrome wifi on. But Windows laptops still has a long way to catch Apple battery efficiency.

@@AizuddinYusoff Mine has Intel i7 1355u. There is no fan noise as I used the slinet mode. Keeping in mind I'm only using this laptop for light use, chrome, video playing, PDF files, powerpoint, emails.

This laptop has one MAJOR issue: Once the battery dies (the battery can die any moment), you cannot use the laptop with a charger, so you are offline for a few days or weeks until you order a new battery!!!!!
