At least that's what I'm calling this one. A suitable spoon for forge-welding projects. The spoon bowl doesn't need to be large, but the length is important to keep you from burns while the steel is at a welding heat.
Thank you for watching! You're awesome. If you want to help the channel for future videos, my links are below.
All the best,

Once again, you're like a maestro! When you were placing the sticky thinnest kiss blocks, I was thinking, "Just step on the treadle pedal and it'll go" 😉

Forgings are amazing because it would be a lot more difficult to make the same item by other methods.

You could have stolen a spoon from the kitchen. But this is so much nicer. Form follows function. Nice work.

If you're feeling rebellious, you can use your borax spoon to scoop something other than borax.

Nice tooling. I was thinking you would use a ball swage. Same outcome.

thanks, starting with the half sphere tool gives more control at the start. Finishing with the ball bearing, polishes the interior.

Nice work. How hard would it be for us that don't have a power hammer?

Forge out the handle of your choice on the anvil. flatten one end and grind a circle. you could forge the circle but its more complicated. You need a bowl swage or depression in a tree stump+ball pien. That should get you close.

Thanks man! Not sure yet, I need to re-tool this idea for an earlier coffee scoop project then I can do a batch run/figure out price. Couple weeks, I'll post all new items on website/instagram.

How do you keep your shop so clean and tidy
@rigoniironworks
@rigoniironworks 11 ай бұрын
I typically set up for a project and the shop can get a mess, but I clean it thoroughly after I'm finished. When I film though, I make sure everything in the shot is clean. That way the viewer can focus on the work and not a mess.

No, I would just coat in beeswax or mineral oil for that use. Iron spoons aren't great for eating with since you can taste the metal.
