In this video, I cover how to forge a heart! This decorative forged steel heart tutorial walks you through each step. This type of heart can be made as a pendant, ornament, or wall hanger.
Join me, Roy, here at Christ Centered Ironworks as I'm making a metal heart. Forging a heart can be a lot of fun. After you are proficient at making a metal heart, you can apply it to all sorts of hand forged projects.
Making a steel heart is a technique that I believe beginneres can try their hand at.
A hand forged heart makes a nice Valentines Day gift or anniversary gift.

I can see how you can get antlers out of that before you curled the tapers. Few cuts, more tapers and a little curve here and there.....

I've made several horse shoe hearts, and I never give up on one that turns out a bit awkward. Some people want them nice, others like them more 'art deco' or off centre. You always have a customer in the end. Cool video Roy!

First time I have seen this type of heart made. I really like the way the inner part turns out heart shaped as well as the outer edge. I might try one using 1/4" thick bar rather than 1/8" also. Out to the forge to make one...!!!

Why don’t you get a ruler with metric on one side? Then all you have to do if flip it over.
@ChristCenteredIronworks
@ChristCenteredIronworks 6 жыл бұрын
+David Hooper I don't get a ruler with the metric system on the flip side because it is the best way that I learn to commit things to memory. Just trying to learn it by heart and be fluent in it :-)

@ChristCenteredIronworks

+Cody Works did you make the middle section wrong or just different? LOL thank you for the great comet I hope you have a blessed day today
@CodyDWorks
@CodyDWorks 6 жыл бұрын
I set the middle section completely wrong (3/4" diameter rod) which made the point VERY difficult to draw out. Intuitively I knew I was wrong but i always second guess myself so i kept trucking on the wrong way.
