I've been subscribed to your channel for about 5 years I reckon and I love your stuff but I got to tell you... Really poor consistency here😅 even if that was just the first heat striking like that on such a heavy piece can only lead to inclusions and faulty welds no offense Brothers but I say this out of love you can do better, overlapping strikes on a piece this big can be the difference between inclusions and a faulty weld versus solid steel and a product that lasts tell your grandchildren break it... Doesn't matter what the base material is the better the quality of work the better the product even with the worst material known to mankind a decent blade can be forged if the Smith spend the time and energy to refold the steel 😉 no disrespect I assure you... I've been away from my anvil for far too long myself 😇 just don't let it get wet or hit it with anything too heavy 😅 steam detonations will kill you and shrapnel's not good for the soul ya feel me 😅😂

So, you're using the name of Christ to promote your hobby or maybe your commercial enterprise? Tell us, how does this association you make advance the Gospel of Christ (which is the conviction of sin and the need for its forgiveness in obedience to Christ)?

Great video. I work as a blacksmith at a museum and my master smith passed away so simple projects like this that help hone my skills are fantastic to have.

A simple 2 inch square of material scribed corner to corner would have found your center. Why the small circle if you used a punch later? Better to scribe one 2 inch circle and one 3/4 inch circle as your cut to line. What was the purpose of the 2 inch circle if you don't cut the corners off?

I'm just watching this now due to your newsletters, but I had an idea. How about different multi sided pipes instead of square, like hex or octagon, so you can also make gravity assisted angled cuts?

Most of my forges use a clinker breaker and thusly I clean it out as its used by grinding them up and dumping them out. At the next opportunity of use, I flip the breaker over and dump out the ash and what clinker remains. The clinker breaker seems the easiest method/manner to use a forge.
