Psy is still very much a thing in Korea. His last concert called "Summer Swag" in July 2022 had about 35K attendees (Suga made a surprise performance singing That That). Psy originally asked Suga to produce the song....then somehow he convinced him to not only rap in the video, but also learn the choreography. Psy is an evil genius lol., Yes it was definitely Psy singing (even the singing part that Yoongi jokingly lip synced) when he had Psy in his arms.

Psy is a proper singer/entertainer in korea for yeeeeeeears before gangnam style and will be for many more years to come. He's not fussed about the market outside of korea. This is one of my favorite songs with SUGA in it. I think he is a genuinely funny person and this just shows off that side of him. I am one of those that loved Psy the first time around. Some of the kids are even still playing his song at school dances here where I live. This is such a fun song.

Love Agust-D. Thank you for your reaction. I'm 56 and I discovered BTS about 2 years ago, I actually took my autistic daughter to Las Vegas to 2 concerts and we love it. Last year, I'm lucky to live in the Chicago suburbs and I was able to go to one of Suga's concerts D-Day. It was such an experience and I was able to see the quality of artist that he is. The concert was full of energy and emotion. If you can check out some of his live concerts that had been posted by fans, songs like Haegeum, Daechwita & his last song "The Last". You should also react to "The Last" and google the story behind that song, Suga expresses his mental issues (OCD) in this song almost to his suicidal thoughts. The word suicide is not in the song is blocked by a sound.

There's a making of/behind the scenes video where they show the part with the birds flying over - totally serendipitous. They just happened to capture it! I don't think Suga sings on this, but he does have a lovely singing voice, which he worked on a lot more in recent years. Psy is just a really fun guy, can definitely sing, is a natural performer, and the members of BTS all admire and revere him. He helped put Korea on the map for music with that one super viral video & song for Gangnam Style.

I really like Suga's rap too. I think the way it can sound aggressive, how his voice almost screams at some points (i dont know how else to say it) and how versatile he can sound. I love it. Also Psy is a wonderful singer! If you want some enjoyable watching look up the episode of Suchwita where Jungkook comes on and youll have a lot of good laughs.

Totally agree that you should watch the making of this, it's really fun! I also agree about Suga rapping, he just hits different. I'm not sure what it is about him! Def his passion, but its like his rap has an almost melodic, hypnotic quality to it - his flow is fierce yet unique

Suga is a man of many talents. He says his music is evolving and I am amazed at the diverse songs he has created. A beautiful song he features in and produced is "Eight" by the Korean female singer IU. This song's MV is beautifully shot and even includes animation. It's an homage to her friends/fellow idols lost to suicide (there are explanation videos) but it's not a dirge at all, feels very upbeat. IU also worked with V, in a STUNNING MV "Love Wins All" (V co-stars but does not sing), which I would put on top of your list to listen to.

This is such a fun song and is loved by BTS especially Jungkook who sings it at the drop of a hat. The first song SUGA offered to PSY he didn’t thing suited him but when SUGA offered him this one he jumped on it. SUGA was just going to produce but PSY dragged him into rapping on it then dancing in the mv. There are behind the scenes videos from both their points of view which are fun to watch. They had such a lot of fun together. PSY is an unusual character so it’s worth looking up his life story. After all, ‘PSY’, is short for, ‘Psycho’. He now owns his own agency called P Nation. There’s a lot more to him than, ‘ Gangnam Style’.

There are a couple of different behind / making of videos for this that make it very clear that Yoongi pitched the song to Psy, and then Psy just asked him to do a little bit more and a little bit more until it was pretty much a 50/50 collaboration. Psy is very pleased with himself about it and it's incredibly wholesome. He's an astoundingly good performer - a legend - and Yoongi looks up to him. He doesn't take himself too seriously, but he's not just a comedian. And yes, he can sing. Yoongi probably couldn't comfortably sing those notes 😂 Psy cracked open the West with Gangnam Style, which pretty nearly no one over here understood at all (it's a very specific satire) but it was catchy AF. But he didn't quite top the charts with it, and when BTS did, he was very happy to congratulate them. He's got his own label and a reputation for nurturing younger artists. The clips we have of him working with Yoongi are really great - they had FUN making this. Which is the point of this song: to have fun. Now I need you to watch clips of Jungkook, who promptly started doing this choreo constantly and singing this song AT Yoongi to annoy him... culminating on his appearance on Suchwita, where he did a karaoke version. Actually, I'd love to watch that episode with you - JK is hilarious - and the extra 15 minutes of footage of him doing karaoke after Yoongi left the set while we're at it. Not that you doubt if Jungkook can actually sing at this point, obviously, but on that show we got to see him singing with a mouthful of steak he was actively eating 🤣
