Thank you for your blunt and honest statment about implicit bias, "... if she was a black woman, I would have probably taken her to jail!". Imagine what goes in a black person's mind when being pulled over ...

You're right, and because the driver was not black she was entitled to be disrespectful, and the officer dismissive.

i worked there. (black of course) got followed home they would ask my mom where i lived and ask her where i was. while i was at work. my sister would call me and be like they had cars parked outside the house. couldn’t do anything about it.

This interview is a good cover up for this lady. This is the same lady who pulled a paton out on me for wishing her good morning in front of the West Side Can Center. Now that I know she's retired, I might just spit in her face next time I run into her. She basically just said she's racist towards black people in so many words.

I worked with this officer. The academy doesn’t train anything about going after certain races of criminals. We’re trained as a team and to treat everyone with respect. I’m going on my 24th year, all on the street. I observed this officer make many mistakes out in the field. A very nice person but she would have gotten others hurt by her lack of skills. This department shows no favoritism to any officer. If you make mistakes, the department will discipline accordingly. I believe in integrity no matter what happens. Be fair be honest is how I am on the streets. It shouldn’t matter but I am a black officer. I definitely take pride in putting on the uniform.

I have considered joining the KCPD for awhile, and listening to a variety of officers talk about the morality of their conduct in the field. Listening to this lady would make me reconsider, if she was the only voice I heard. Thank you for the alternative perspective.

U speak for yourself as a long time resident of Kansas city all I’ve seen is racist biased cops brotha u r n denial about the kcpd i promise u tht much if u think your comrades aren’t targeting black people all over the city my brotha u need a reality check matter fact why dnt u talk to the people y’all so called protect and ask the urban community why we distrust the police as a whole and for u to b black and dnt see it says alot 🤦🏿‍♂️
