The Eastern Mountain Lion! My Grandfather always talked about lions in southern Missouri. Everyone thought he was seeing large bobcats. He grew up hunting and fishing in his area. In fact he lived off of the land his entire life, and was a commercial fisherman on the Mississippi River. He never made exaggerations about the animals that were in the woods around his property. He insisted that he had seen Mountain Lions. Game cams have since captured pics of lions in an area only 20 miles from his home. I would love to see him vindicated! He taught me everything about hunting and conservation that I know!

@@mysteryjunkie9808 It was the early 80's when I started to hear my Grandpa talking about lions as he called them. He never changed his story his entire life. Same in CT. They are coming back. We’ve had at least 4 documented car hits in the past decade. My grandmother lived in the house I live in from 78-2006 and she was stared down by a mountain lion 30 feet away at the edge of the woods. She said for a good 7 minutes too. Undeniably a mountain lion.

Lots of pissed off people behind the scenes. Doing all that work to find an animal then having some tool and his film crew come in and claim they did it is hard to reproduce as not many people will sign on for that crap. If they credited the right people they might still be going .

In 2020 Forrest dropped in at the BRCC facility in Salt Lake City and they immediately put him on the FRA podcast and fan boy'd on him for 1.5 hours. They love the work Forrest does.

I Live in Southeast Pennsylvania, and I have seen a cougar during my commute to college in the spring of 2019. Everyone has told me it was a cat or a bobcat, but the damn thing was at least 80+ lbs. Also that same year during a camp out in my buddies backyard, we all got unbelievably hammered and at around 3:30/4 am the few of us remaining were around the campfire when, what i can only describe as a cougar roar (like that raspy scream) came from the bushes where my friend was taking a drunken whizz. The sound alone made me stone cold sober and it awoke people that had fallen asleep. At least 7 of us heard the exact same sound and we all looked online for some sort of explanation, only to understand that what we heard was 1000% a mountain lion. So I too hate the notion that there's "no cougars" in Pennsylvania because they are definitely here. Whether it's the Eastern, or the common Mountain Lion i don't know but I'm sure a lot of people would love to see you guys check it out one day!

I saw a panther in eastern North Carolina while hunting. Nobody believed me and when I contacted the wildlife resource commission about it, they basically laughed in my face and said I was full of it. They told me that no matter how many sightings they have come in, the eastern mountain lion (panther) is extinct and that’s that. It’s crazy

A random person's word isn't enough nowadays thats not ur fault ppl r quick to lie or exaggerate for the sake of being momentarily interesting especially behind a screen so u truly cant be a credible source anymore unless u got a folder filled with pictures and videos on queue when ppl call bs. Thats why Forest had a 87 page doc with evidence for an animal being non extinct just so he could get the funding to find said animal.

I can say as an avid hunter/fisherman in Pennsylvania there are 2 things that make a mountain lion sighting hard to believe when you hear them… 1. There are bobcats here but people don’t see them often to get familiar with them. Their size is easy to over estimate because of all of our hills distorting distance estimates. 2. We have a shit ton of hunters and a lot of those boys are running on Busch camo cans.

I have seen one with my friend about 12 years ago and I know many others that have claimed too see one as well. I’ve worked at our Department of Natural Resources for the past 2 years as a summer student working wildfires and there is a ranger that is certain he saw one as well. Highschool is known as the Mountain Lions lol... although they are not nearly as common as they once were, you get out of the towns and head up into the mountains/densely wooded areas it's very common to hear about them or see trail cam footage of a cougar...they are very sly animals so it's extremely hard or damn near impossible to spot them during the day but definitely can be heard at night...I've seen a few over the years, if your a hunter from the area then you've probably caught them on camera or have seen/heard them roaming about... again they are not nearly as common as they were when I was a kid

I live in North Eastern PA, Pike County in the Pocono mountains to be specific, and about 10 years ago, when I was a teenager, I saw a mountain lion clear as day. I was with my sister fishing at a pound maybe 1/4 from our house. She was at the south east corner of the pond and I decided to head to the north central part. This is a man made pond, with a large ridge that went into a man made marsh off the north face. When I crested the ridge, at MOST 200 feet away was a mountain lion about the size of a juiced-to-the-gills corn fed German Shepard. It was lying with it's back to me, with what appeared to be a partially eaten and rotting deer carcass just beyond it. I stood there for about 10 seconds before I mustered the courage to move, making my way down the ridge, back around the pond, telling my sister what I saw, and got the fuck out of there. We told out parents, they believed us but since we maybe sorta kinda were totally trespassing on a crotchety old man's land to fish for sun fish, not to report it to Fish and Game. To this day I have no earthly idea how that lion did not hear or smell me. Maybe it did and simply did not care enough to let me know, but for whatever reason, I'm glad teenage me wasn't the first death by mountain lion in PA in God knows how long. I hope you guys make your way to PA some day to look for one, I'm sure if anyone could find one it'd be you guys.

I'm sure I saw a mountain lion just across the bridge from Ottawa this year 2022. Blew my mind and scared my dog.

A church near my house in upstate SC got a mountain lion on camera in their cemetery. All they did was tell everyone in the neighborhood not to go outside at night for a few days!

I live next to Oak Ridge, TN (east TN). Few months ago a mountain lion ran out in front of me one night close to Oak Ridge National Laboratory. No doubt it was a lion, long thick tail, plus it leaped over a retaining wall effortlessly. TWRA won't admit they're in this area but they are.

I live on a farm in North Georgia a few years ago I kept finding carcasses in this ditch that runs down from my pond , dead turkeys , cows , skunks , all kinds of dead animals. I took my dog down there to see what we could find. Posted up in that ditch eyeing my cows , was a mountain lion / panther. It was a dark grey big cat , I swear on my life. I got lucky it didn’t see me

I’ve seen a mountain lion in the suburbs north of Boston and many people in my neighborhood had similar sightings all throughout my life. For sure real. It was a cat the size of a small deer, no mistaking it.

There are mountain lions in the east.I know 2 separate people that have them on game cams. One was in Pennsylvania and the other was in Upstate NY. They are said to be released by fish and game for deer population control. There was a farmer who called the NY game commission and told them he had a large cougar eating his live stock. They told him he is mistaken and that there are no cougars. He shot it and called them out and they came and fined him. It was very large about 175 lbs. You can just look up the story it was about 10 years ago. The 2 trail cam ones both had radio collars.

With all the trail cameras everywhere these days, people would be getting pictures of an eastern mountain lion if it still existed.

I would be down to go on an investigation. There's a lot of chatter in Northwestern CT of Cougars for years now. CT says the same as Pennsylvania.
