Andy is a rarity in horror; a legitimate and definitive Final Boy. Final Girls are a dime a dozen but a Final Boy? Now THOSE are rare and Andy is the standard. Bravo to Alex Vincent for one hell of a character! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Andy and ash from evil dead are my favorite final boys
@TinyDollBoy2 жыл бұрын
Well the reason "Final Boys" are rare is because the Final Girl trope was invented to push back against men always being the stars/protagonists in earlier movies/horror movies so it makes sense why we see little of them since they aren't anything new, they're just going back to how it use to be.
@Griffnix2 жыл бұрын
@@TinyDollBoy There was also psychological discussion about the final girl being more paletable for the male audience and having a sense of protection over them with the whole damsel in distress trope. If it's a guy, they say, you would think he would get out of the situation but a woman, a guy would worry more about her safety and be more invested.
@joshsleezetube2 жыл бұрын
@@stoplisteningtothestatic7078 that’s a good one too. Shoutouts to Tommy Jarvis too.
@joshsleezetube2 жыл бұрын
@@TinyDollBoy I’d say yes and no. I think it’s also a situation of because final boys are so rare they tend to get more character development than the final girls who usually have their one film (maybe two or three if they’re lucky). If you look at someone like Andy, Ash from Evil Dead, Tommy in Friday, even Dewey in Scream, you see all of them go from helpless victims to pretty capable badasses as their films go on. Outside of Nancy, Sidney and Laurie, final girls rarely have that.

You know what's kind of sad, is that it looks like Andy was actually starting to recover from the trauma. The avoidance behavior was starting to improve, and he was carrying the doll around(though it was mainly to put on a facade). But that's still improvement. Also it might not seem like much, but Andy actually felt comfortable enough to sleep with a Good Guy doll in the room later that night, which imo would have been a HUGE stepping stone in his recovery.

Kyle is that big sister and hero Andy really needed. After doing everybody’s job in the first Child’s Play, he needed to just lay back a while. But he is still going in on that red haired evil bastard. 😂 I kind of feel bad for Brad Dourif because as talented and great actor as he is, he kind of always gets relegated back to the voice of Chucky and has been stuck there the whole way. Great reaction Alanda 👍 Caution! The last couple of Chucky movies rely more on comedy than horror, dumb and fun. You have to thank one, Fredrick J.
