In this episode I am leaving the beautiful autonomous region of Tibet and head to Xinjiang. On our way something unforeseeable happended: On the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway (G219), the highest highway in China (average altitude of 4000 meters), we found a homeless dog and picked him up. He was quite young and seemed to be suffering.. We gave him some oxygen and took him with us to protect him from the cold climate.
The ride was quite thrilling and dangerous, we drove among the highest mountain passes in the Himalayas and Karakoram Mountains, but yet reached Xinjiang safely.

I rode a motorcycle through this road, and there is even a 4G network here, all of which are based on the investment of national enterprises regardless of cost, just for the convenience of ordinary people

This dog will grow really big, in Bhutan we called this breed highland mastiff. It will protect you with his life but he isn’t playful when he grow up that’s how they are, very reserved dog. Haha they are handsome dog

😂 Same, I'm in Australia, and it even got down to about 5 degrees on a couple of mornings 😅 we've even had a frost. Omg, it was so cold. *sarcasm 😂 I'm originally from Taumarunui, so I understand frosts, but still, it was never as cold there as it is where they shot this. Huge 🙏 Respect for the guys on the bikes. I know a lot of people with bikes, but I don't know anyone who would be that crazy.

Hats off to those 2 motor-bikers.! I assume they made it to their destination safe & sound and without any major issues. They must have had snow-tires (or some sort of special tires) on for their bikes. That's one hell of a risk to take riding in such conditions where it's ideal to have 'black ice' forming on the road surface as evidence by the icicles forming all over the non-moving part of their bikes.. Not to mention the freezing cold, windy & winding road with countless hairpin turns and steep cliffs to one side of the road. The mountainous winding section of G219 esp. the stretch through Aksai Chin is at least 300 km long and lastly, having to share it with trailer trucks ! 😱 Imagine the focus & concentration needed to ride under such condition. Respect 🙏💪👍!

yes in india mountains area where i am from these dogs are almost in every house, we call them bhotiya dogs , they are similiar to tibetan mastiff, they are really strong and guard dogs, they dont require any dog food they will easily survive with purely natural diet also dont feed him dog food instead feed him chken meat, i am raising these dogs since i was kid

China is great to have road thru this extreme region and a network of phone communication. The 2 bikers are supermen, riding thru in such chilly air with oxygen. Which makers pruduce these bikes and the car ? The puppy is a great species, stands the test of such extreme weather, no where else it cannot survive.

Very interesting to see Aksai Chin up close. The building of the road through Aksai Chin precipitated China's war with India in 1962. Aksai Chin means something like desert of stones. It certainly looks inhospitable.

This is what I found from ChatGPT. The term "Aksai Chin" is of Turkic origin. "Aksai" means "white brook" or "white water" in the Turkic languages, and "Chin" is derived from the Mandarin Chinese word "qin" (秦), which historically referred to China.

Another great video. I still have fond memories of the Tibet-Xinjiang High mountain road. The view is absolutely breathtaking, I am not 100% sure but believe it is the worlds highest paved mountain road. When I passed over it several years ago it was on a sunny day but the temperature was also below freezing. The little dog gave the whole video a very heart warming touch. What a beautiful doggy. Did you keep it? Many thanks to you for the great videos of Tibet. I am now thinking to spend a few days in Tibet in October again.

AAHH just amazing Yan, a name for the dog? Good drone shots, And functioning at high altitudes, the rime on the motorbikes was getting too much, but you pulled through. You should have a scarf around your neck, and over your mouth, to warm the air passing into your lungs. It is axiomatic. I have been a Reindeer Herder in North Norway, my partner had made 26 Silk Scarves in her time. Food and water for the growing puppy is paramount. Yan, you are doing well. Stay safe. K2 in the distance would be incredible, I have had many friends up the Baltoro Glacier and have climbed it. Not me though..............Bernese Mountain Dog, Possibly!

Don't worry - it's a police dummy - they placed a few of those in Gen La pass, sometimes with motorized arm parts.

Wow - that Bermese Mtn Puppy sure looks awesome! The mtn pass that you're traveling in Tibet is at the same altitude as Everest's Base Camp...That has to be the highest highway on the Planet - Be safe!

Incredible ride,specially hard for bikers.Even when landscspes shown by drons are spectaculars. You got a cute dog for prize! Still i got a headache by height just looking at you!!!
