Your channel is like the show "Planet Earth" but for cameras. I love it.

I'm very glad it comes across that way. When I go out with a camera I forget problems too; for me it's a meditative thing and I'm happy that some of that comes through. :)

Once again I have learnt something. You cause people to slow up, well you do me. Lens have a personality so to speak is what have picked up from you. Which in turn opens another door to explore. Had a look in my cabinet and there’s a Minolta 50mm f2. So tomorrow taking it on my walk. Thank you once again

I'm glad I've led you towards vintage lenses - they're technically less perfect than modern lenses, but it's those imperfections that give them their character and look. Modern lenses are great too, but often lack personality. Thanks for watching!

Do you have a video covering the modern cameras and adapter(s) that you use? Love the information that you provide!

Glad you're enjoying the videos! I use a full frame Sony A7, with cheap, so called 'dumb' adaptors, which do the job very well!

Great video mate!! I think that a good next video could be a comparative of two great zeiss lenses, your favorite Pacolar and my favorite Biotar 58 f2. How do you think it resolves? better sharpnes, bokeh and microcontrast? Maybe I end buying the pancolar too :) Thanks again and regards from Spain!!

Thanks, that's a really good idea!

Fun to watch, makes me want to buy more lenses. Maybe I missed this -- what mount do the Chinon & Pancolar lenses use? I think the Chinon may be a Pentax K mount, and can't guess for the Pancolar. Thanks.
@zenography79234 жыл бұрын
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video! The Chinon is indeed Pentax K, and the Pancolar is M42.

The Pancolar is a top 5 50mm lens for me.

Regarding the Chinar 50mm f1.9 -- is the "Chinon" 50mm f1.9 comparable? Or actually a different lens?
@zenography79234 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure; I would imagine they're similar though...
@aengusmacnaughton13754 жыл бұрын
@@zenography7923 -- Well, I'm scouring eBay, shopgoodwill-dot-com, etsy and bonanza-dot-com looking for examples of both. The "CHINON" labeled one is a lot more common than the "CHINAR" -- so if I end up with both and adapt them to my Lumix G85 then I can do a bokeh shoot-out!! Thanks!

I'm not keen on the Summitar's bokeh. But it has the name that people have heard of. Like Rolex in watches. For that, you have to pay.

All you goobers who care more about the blur and lens distortions than creating good compositions. you bokeh bros have ruined photography completely

people take photos of exactly what they like, you can put up so many rules for this and that or you can try to think for yourself and toss those rules out the window and begin to play with your camera while living your life
