This brilliant western takes us back to our childhood days when movie's at the drive in was our small towns major form of entertainment on a Sunday. Unfortunately our descendants will never know how much fun it was to gather at the drive in and enjoy amazing movies, like this one, with family & friends. Thanks for sharing and especially for allowing us to reminisce about the good old days when everyone enjoyed life & each other without modern gadgets. ☺😊

I sat through this and didn't move. Westerns were different in those days. Realistic and entertaining,a great afternoon out with friends.

A western that deserves a greater acclaim. Unconventional in every sense, with a wheelchair bound villain, a far from ordinary hero, and some complex moral dilemmas cropping up at unexpected moments.

Watched this one a few dozen times. Real good film with decent acting. Bet it was a sleeper at the box office! And anything with Edgar Buchanan is always gonna be a good one! Glad it's still up and free!!! Good job putting it out for us, thanks!!

That was a great twist to the storyline, that absolutely no other western has done. Very unique and entertaining. When acting was first class acting.

You don’t watch many westerns, do you? Do you think the script makes sense? I can list a hundred movies that are way better than this movie. The plot is good but very poorly scripted and directed. Town tamer? Sinners bench? I love the town tamer for what reason? This Zody character doesn’t fit. Never heard of town tamers in my 65 years of growing up until this movie. Unheard of in history. If you take out Zody and the cripples wife Mary Hogue it would make much more sense. But then again the movie would be cut by a 3rd which would now last 45 minutes. It could have been thought out better. Plus Mary Hogue is not that pretty. Maybe she wrote the movie??

Absolutely loved this Western, James Craig was good as the reluctant town tamer, Tom Sabin. Liked the plot which takes a nice twist about half way in. One of these films you must watch through to completion to see what happens.

Most of the moralising Westerns of the 1950s drive me mad, but this was a very well done melodrama - just the basics, but well done. Nice to see Martha Vickers again, so long after The Big Sleep.

Although born 31 years earlier in 1933 Brett Hasley looks similar to actor Grant Show, The scene in the church with his in the distance talk and posture with the boot on the bench makes me wonder if Grant Show has noted the similarity and took a nod for his character Lucas Boyd in Point Pleasant

A really interesting premise that unfortunately took a long time coming. A longer and more in depth look at two brother gunmen forced to face each other could have turned this into a classic.

Cassavedas must have survived long enough to identify Sabin as his assailant, otherwise how would anyone know that Sabin was the man that shot him? Also, I kind of felt cheated not getting to witness Sabin tangle with Farmer Brown.
