Really good review mate. I do think the bubble has burst quite a bit with some of the Foursquare releases. Looking at Rum Auctioneer's March auction (just finished) x4 bottles of Indelible went for £60 and x4 bottles of Elysium went for £65 which is way below retail and is one of my favourite Foursquare releases. A bottle of Doorly's 14 went for £45! Even with the addition of buyer's fees it still comes out less than retail. Long may this trend continue 🥃

I tried my first quality rum this weekend, partly spurned on by your malternatives month. It was a rum revelation! I’ve always found rum too sweet and a bit one dimensional, but clearly never had quality before. It happened to be a Foursquare, but that’s not the point - it was complex, oaky, red fruity, vanilla, and many other adjectives I’ve only associated with quality malt before. I’m converted - my next couple of bottles are going to be rum for sure. Not Foursquare as I’m new to this, have no fomo, and thus have no need to board the hype train just yet!

What I like about Doorly´s 12 is the strong beautiful buttery note. I don´t get it on this one, 14yo or Foursquare 12. Wonder how they achieve it. Maybe maturing in butter casks...

The Indelible was available here last year but is all sold out now. This was retailing at a similar price as the Doorly's 14. The 2010 60% ABV is still available, and I picked up a bottle of this last month. I paid $142 NZD which I think is about £67. Only had a couple of drams from the bottle but so far so good. Cheers!

These ECS releases sell out quick but I've noticed auction prices for them plummet in the last 6 months. Won't stop the flippers, but good to see them not making much, if anything.

It's a shame Foursquare is so hard for you to get... it's sitting on the shelf in a lot of places at MSRP here in the States. (Their MSRP has gotten a bit dear, though, but then again whose hasn't?)

Flippers are the worst of the worst in my opinion. If there not opening the bottle and enjoying it, why screw over other people?🤔

Interesting over here Foursquare are everywhere…(see what I did right there) Albiet increasingly overpriced/expensive but that Doorly’s 14 is never seen in my area… maybe due to the protected status of the rare macaw 🦜.😅 Cheers 🥃 PS… Mount GayXO and their other premium offerings are no slouch and IMO and in many cases as good or better than Foursquare for a fraction of the price.
