Fourwheel Trader - Car depreciation analysis

Prices for the GT3 RS and GT2 RSs have been flat during last year while prices for some McLarens and Ferraris have been falling. If you are luckily enough to shop in this segment of this market and care about values, the GT RS products should be on your list.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS and GT2 RS depreciated only marginally during last year and in some cases even appreciated. They hereby outperformed the market.
So if you are in the fortunate situation that you can shop in this price range and care about values, I would definitely short list these cars. It of course does not guarantee that prices wont come down in the future. After all, the cars are still fairly new.

Hi again. Interesting to watch as usual. One point to share with you that 997.1GT3RS has one exception. The RS Green 997.1GT3RS. This green Gen 1 RS commands almost as high as 997.2GT3RS market or even higher when the cars are in low mileage. Because of big demand and low production numbers. RS markets (Porsche markets in general but more for GT3 / RS markets )are heavily biased/affected by the colors. 964RS : Amethyst Pearl, Signal green, Maritime blue and Ruby Star for example. 993RS : Legendary Riviera Blue, for example.

@fourwheeltrader I'm being sold a 2019 .2 3RS with 5800km on the odo. (EU version with extended warranty) for 278k. Is this a good price to invest in the car right now? I intend to use the car often, not as a GARAGE QUEEN or FLIPPING or as a daily but on weekends. Neither i'm planning on tracking the car. Any comments are appreciated. Is a GT Silver on Aurum gold wheels and black interior with gt silver stiching NON Weissach.

EU market videos are going to be epic. I'd say there is a massive discrepancy between the UK and EUR markets even when adjusting for FX rates because the UK has historically had more relevant high-earning roles with lower taxes, especially in finance. For example, Pistas are now in the market for £280-300k vs. in Europe, you'll be lucky to see a couple below €400k.

I love your videos. I like to keep track of what the current trading prices are for my favorite cars. At 56 seconds, you show the 991.1 dropped 0.4%, or $900, which would mean the new price is $224,100, but the graph looks like the current cost is about $210. There are many more examples, in this video and others where when I do the math, it doesn't match what the graph is saying. I still like your videos, but it would be better if you just said what the final price is at the end of the graph. Also, it is hard to read these graphs with no vertical lines. Thanks, and keep up the good work.
@fourwheeltrader
@fourwheeltrader 5 ай бұрын
Thanks for your feedback. The 0.4% drop refers only to the period that is indicated by the shaded box (the previous 12 months). It does not cover the price change from the MSRP. In January 2023, the median list price for a used car was $209,990 and it decreased to $209,062 by January 2024, this equals approximately 0.4% and matches with the graph.

I see now that I was taking the numbers too literally, and I didn't realize that you have been rounding your numbers. Still, I think you should put the price of the last data point on the screen, so I can know what the average trading price is at the time the video comes out. These graphs are very hard to read without vertical lines. For videos that you make periodically, like the Porsche market videos, that will make it even easier to see exactly how big or small the change is. Plus, most of us hope to us hope to one day use your videos to know what we should expect to pay for a dream car. For instance, for cars that you have not analyzed, I went to Dupont Registry to see what the sellers are asking, and after seeing how much cars were trading for on your site, then seeing the list prices on an auction site, I learned that the sellers always ask much more than the car is actually worth. @@fourwheeltrader

Look at the price for a 991.1 gt3 rs , it is about 150 grand. What makes a GT4 RS any better than that car. They have the same engine, it is only that is marginally smaller, with a mid-mounted engine instead of a rear-mounted engine, and after the 997 generation, porshce moved the 911 engine closer to the middle, which is one of the reasons why 991 and 992 cars have insanely good Nurburgring times. Those cars aren't rare, they are making seven thousand GT4 RS and Spyder RS models. The production nubers are way to big to support those cars every going up in value, plus they can't get around the Nurburgring as fast ast the 992 GT3, let alone the the GT3 RS models. There is just not enough special about them, and they are way too overproduced. Snatch one in five years when it is at 150k like the other GT cars.

on the Italian market, 991.2 gt3 with less than 10,000 km and with many accessories (for example clubsport) average around 180/185,000 euros. The 991.2 gt3 RS always with less than 10000 km are between 230,000 and 250,000 euros. the prices of these two versions are stable from 2022 to today. probably because many consider 991.2 more beautiful than 992
@jgway9980
@jgway9980 5 ай бұрын
These things are still insanely overpriced. Good luck getting your money back in the next 3 years if you buy an inflated one on the used market now. $400k or more for a GT3 is hilarious. A $120k M4 CSL is right on its heals in performance and on the street for the average driver it’s pretty much a wash. Porsche will pump out more of these when they continue to lose money on their electric models. Once that happens they will be easier to get and prices will come back to earth.
@bryanachee7133
@bryanachee7133 5 ай бұрын
keep waiting. until you can walk into a dealer and just buy one off the floor at sticker the prices of the used ones will stay up. the 997.2 is peak 911 and will never go down. mezger engine and manual. 991 will dip a bit then stabilize. A m4 CSL is a nice car but it's not a porsche. production is already done for the 992.1 GT3 and there won't be any .2 for at least a year. my 5 year old 991.2 is still worth more than sticker. not that I really care because I plan on keeping it a long while.

@@bryanachee7133 I used to be first one in line saying “it’s not a Porsche” but quite honestly after owning a $135k 992 C2S new and then getting into a new Lotus Evora GT, M3, a C8, and an M8, I enjoyed those 4 vehicles every bit as much as the 911. And they cost $95k, $84k, $72k, and $86k (M8 was used). I don’t get the hype with the 992, I enjoyed my 991.2 more. Porsche as a whole has become overrated and overpriced in my opinion on all levels. I recently went from a 2021 base Cayenne ($90k) to an $80k X5 50e and the X5 blows it away on all levels, even handling on mountain roads. And it uses no gas! The GT3’s are great but you just can’t get them unless you wanna get burnt on the used market. I used to never like Corvettes but after owning a C8 and realizing that it sounds way better than a 992 C2S and is more fun to drive, Porsche turned me into a Corvette fan. My C8 was literally half the price of my 992. It’s laughable. Not saying I will never own another 911 but I can guarantee it won’t be an overpriced 992. I would go certified 991.1 GTS if I were to blow $100k on a 911 right now.

@@Biggus_Dickus_69I’ve owned a couple of GT3/RS since the 997.2 gens. Never thought it a super car. However, it’s damn impressive what the 992 GT3RS does on the track, most of the time faster laps than a 918 and even Pista; which I’d put into super car category. So a non super car (and significant less HP/TQ) beating super cars on the track 😂
