On this episode of The Fab Forums I finish up the a arms for the Bibbster and start working on the strut towers. Hope you dig it.
Welcome to The Fab Forums. My name is Kyle Voss and I produce Custom Motorsports Fabrication content of all forms for you. Carbon Fiber, TIG Welding, Metal Shaping, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Custom Choppers, and everything in between. I work hard to bring you new content on a weekly basis.
Here are some of the builds you can find on this channel.
I have built several Chevy trucks on this channel. The first was my 1964 C10 named Crown Spoyal and the most recent C10 truck project was the 1969 I currently have named the Black Pearl.
I am also finishing up a custom twin turbo Ford Mustang build I call the Gray Goose. It’s a 400 cubic inch Windsor style engine with twin 70mm turbos. I am hoping to make around the 1000 horse power mark to the tires on this particular build.
Last but not least is the one off custom hot rod build called the Bibbster. This is what I call a modern day hot rod. It’s made from an old Ford Mustang foxbody, but made to look like an old school open wheeled hot rod.
I also feature other fabricators and shops like Cutworm Specialties hand formed aluminum wide body kit for a BMW e46. Jeb Greenstone has also built a twin turbo, coyote powered model A style hot rod from scratch, and is currently building a Toyota TE72 wagon drift car powered by a 1UZ Lexus v8. Jeb’s custom fabrication skills are fun to watch and always make for good videos.
Check out my playlist to see some or all of these builds.

I kind of stumbled on this build a few weeks ago, and it won't leave my brain. I've had a similarly laid out build in mind for years, but with dump-truck axles - dualie in back and super singles up front. Loving your work here!

Beautiful build. I like the simplicity of the exposed hydraulic cylinder in lieu of a strut. I think you should keep that theme going in the rear end and have the coil-over spring in-board (Where you originally wanted to put the hydraulic cylinder) and have the hydraulic cylinder exposed (connected to the axle) besides giving it a more exotic look, I think it makes sense because I believe the hydraulic cylinder will have a larger range of motion than your springs will and therefore will require less of an extreme movement from your cantilevers. Also about accumulators, they work well, if it's too stiff, you can always run 2 per cylinder. Also mid to late 90s E Class and mid 90s to pre 06 S Classes have a hydraulic suspension. They use a bladder accumulator nearly identical to a lowrider accumulator, but being they are from a benz, they give the ultimate ride and good handling. You can go to a junk yard and get some off of a mercedes for probably less than the hydraulic shop will charge.

I was one of those who sent you the C10 link, sorry should have realised that when I see it, thousands of your fans do :-O However, just for clarification, what I meant was to keep the struts as a major design and heritage statement, but at 12:40 replace the cylinder(+accumulator) with the setup. Buuuut I honestly prefer the accumulator solution, it will not look as hidden as the C10 set-up, but very cool & technical. 16:00 ooooh fff....... I get it now. hahaha. Totally had that the wrong way in my head. That is very neat!

A little late for suggestions but a transverse leaf spring would be super clean and out of the way up front, vettes have been using them forever. Shocks could be mounted horizontally too using a bracket on the upper a-arm pivot.

Have you looked or ask for reverse flow cylinder. The fitting and flow goes thru the piston rod so the fitting is on the top. I use to get it from reds hydraulics for imports and front wheel drive cars. They also has coil springs that go over the cylinder like a coilover set up.

I’ve been wondering about that geometry in the front end. Seems like you have it under control, KZfaq user this old Tony did a go cart build and talked a good bit about how the wheels don’t turn at the same rate, and how caster and camber help the steering wheel straighten out while driving etc. might be worth checking out in case it has something helpful. Really cool how it’s coming together man.

have you seen the hydraulic setup that Mike Finnegan used on his c10? He just posted a video about it last week or so. It's a coil-over and hydraulic ram all in one. May be something to look at in the future if the accumulators don't provide the ride your looking for. I'm not big on fox body mustangs but this build has got them growing on me.

Mike fiinagen or however you spell his name just got some hydrolic cylinders that has coil springs on them so no matter if you are all the way down or all the way up you have the same ride quality. They are pretty slick you might want to look into those it would be cool to see them on the rat rod.
