Kayleigh McEnany, former Trump press secretary, is also present for Ortagus's blunder, and she doesn't bat an eye. Sam Seder and the Majority Report crew discuss this.

Sam Seder: You know folks over at Fox... We all make mistakes. I just referred to Ari Berman as Ari Melber, that's a mistake that sometimes people make.
Emma Vigeland: Ari Bergermeister Meisterberger?
Sam Seder: Yeah, I don't know what that means, but... Look, the point is, we all make mistakes. And just because you work for a news organization, doesn't mean that you can keep all of these countries in Asia separate and distinct from each other.
Emma Vigeland: Especially when they're small countries.
Sam Seder: Yeah.
Emma: Insignificant to somebody at a cable news company.
Sam Seder: Rarely in the news. Who is this guy? We're not sure what her name is. But this is on the "Outnumbered" show. And here are the Fox... They are really... I appreciate the sentiment that maybe the Olympics should be canceled this year. But I wouldn't say it's because of this reason.
Morgan Ortagus: ...these Olympics. I like to call them the "Genocide Olympics." Anyway, I'm still on the team that I'm not even sure we should be competing because there is an ongoing genocide in Xinjiang. So, if we are gonna go to a country, if we are gonna compete and have American athletes there, in a country that's committing a genocide, even more important Harris, to have the freedom of the American flag represented.
Emma Vigeland: Wow.
Sam Seder: Wow. We gotta play that again, because there's a couple things that you should be aware of. That Japan is not China. That's the first thing you need to know. The Olympics are in Japan. The Uyghurs are persecuted in China. There are some small quarters where that is a controversial statement, or at the very least, the question of genocide is a controversial statement.
Emma Vigeland: Well it's a cultural genocide at the very least.
Sam Seder: But the one thing that is not controversial about that statement is that to the extent that it's happening, and it very well may be, it's in China, not in Japan. Now both those countries are in Asia. Fair enough. I don't know what else to say. What's impressive is that she's been saying this, she's been calling them the "Genocide Olympics," and no one in any other part of her life has said, "What do you mean by that? Genocide Olympics?" And then she would say, "Well, because of the Uyghurs." And they would say, like, "But you realize, the Olympics are in Japan?"
Emma Vigeland: Nope! The producers were like, "Nailed it!"
Sam Seder: Nailed it! Let's play this clip again. Now, the other thing you should also watch during this clip is, look at the faces of the other people on the show. They're not even blinking an eye. It's just like, "Oh yeah, you know, she's talking about the 'Genocide Olympics.'"
Morgan Ortagus: ...these Olympics. I like to call them the "Genocide Olympics." Anyway, I'm still on the team that I'm not even sure we should be competing because there is an ongoing genocide in Xinjiang. Matt Lech: "I'm on the team..." Who else is on that team that's been calling this the "Genocide Olympics," because I haven't heard from them.
Sam Seder: That's what I've been calling it.
Emma Vigeland: Oh well she's been cooking it up. She wants to have her own kind of War on Christmas moment, or Critical Race Theory thing, where, "I'm gonna move up on this Fox News ladder."

Back when there was a scare about the CCP spying on Chinese brand phones, my dad told me that he left some pictures on his phone that should piss off the Chinese spying on his phone. He had an LG, a Korean brand. Worst part is, my mom, his wife, is also Korean. Just goes to show that being married to someone of a different race doesn't make you not racist.

@@HalfBackCrack This isn't cope, dude. This is just real concern over the accuracy of a segment. Sure, this isn't exactly hard news, so it doesn't matter all that much in the grand scheme, but still I think its important to be honest. I haven't been able to find this clip anywhere else to check the context, but just searching the term 'olympics' on Fox News' website yields a ton of results talking about boycotting the 2022 Beijing Olympics, going back at least five months. Like, on the first page of results, about 1 in 3 stories are urging boycotts for or otherwise fear-mongering about the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. I think it is highly likely that that is what this woman was referring to.

Winter Olympics actually not that far away at this point anymore either. I don't think Seder & co. are particularly cultured with their take here anymore than the FOX bunch.

If she was, why? Because this is in the context of the proposed flag change, which would not take effect until 2024 Olympics in Paris. At best, her comment is completely redundant to the conversation. At worst, she truly confused Japan with China, as it is fair for the viewer to assume that by "these Olympics" she's talking about the ones about to take place in a couple of weeks, not the ones next year.

@@TelephoneToughGuy I ain’t defending her in any way, I am just very wary of tightly edited clips that show only what the editor wants us to see. There may have been earlier discussion about the Beijing Winter Olympics as it’s been a talking point amongst the Angry Right for quite some time. I am trying to locate the whole panel discussion and see. I SUSPECT she has mapped anti-China, anti-Beijing, COVID/Uighur “talking points” onto the wrong conversation. If you asked her whether Tokyo was in China or Beijing in Japan, she’d know.

Why assume that people would understand you're talking about the 2022 Olympics if all you say is "these Olympics..." Why even bring up the 2022 Beijing Olympics in this context?

The flag can't have 50 stars because of all the screen printing and embroidery needed for the uniforms and merch. They need a flag that can be scaled down to a quarter. Like the graphics department was probably like "oh we can make it look so much better than this if we can cut it down in detail" and they've turned into a political issue.

I’m praying that you’re being very sarcastic about the countries that you’ve just mentioned and you’re not that damn ignorant to believe that Honduras is a state in Mexico, in fact Honduras isn’t even close to Mexico. The countries that you mentioned sits in the South American continent near Brazil and The Bay of Campeche which is near the Caribbean

In her defense, the 2022 Olympics are in Beijing - which is in China where the Uyghur Genocide is happening. That said, she should know the difference between 2021 and 2022 and China (especially since she knew the damn provenance) and Japan. Also, Emma, saying she's called boycotting Olympics wherever a genocide has happened is disingenuous (Jesus fuck, I'm defending fox). There much that they all said that was wrong, but she was referring to a current genocide not past actions.

Regarding your comment about being the only “Conservative” in a sea of “Radical Liberals” shows that you don’t have any life and you’re so triggered by individuals who have different beliefs than yours you have to waste your valuable time supporting a KZfaq channel that doesn’t fit your narrative just to feel “Superior” but you’re not. I’m not sure that you understand KZfaq guidelines, but every single link you click on the content creator gets “Viewer Acknowledgment” which means that regardless if you watch the video or not you’re still counted as a VIEWER and you’re adding to Sam algorithm which helps him financially. Okay, folks, I'm about to drop some knowledge on all of you so make sure you read it carefully. It is the Summer Olympics which is being held inside Tokyo. Then comes the Paralympics, which are also being held inside Tokyo this year. And then we have the Winter Olympics, which is set for 2022 in *Beijing, China* it's what I believe the lady was referring to. Then last the Youth Olympic Games for 2024 & 2026. (Winter sports being the first) So really, you and your cast just need to research first before trying to inform your victims I mean viewers with the correct information instead of misinformed. If I missed something about the games, please feel free to chime in.

The bipartisan Bill introduces a series of measures aimed at tackling Chinese foreign policy and economic influence.
