Walz intervention likely had role in Ryan Londregan case being dropped, analysts say

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz told FOX 9 he was going to take the case of Minnesota Trooper Ryan Londregan being charged with shooting Ricky Cobb II during a traffic stop out of the Hennepin County Attorney's hands “soon" based on evidence that he had seen.

Not a Walz fan, but I have to admit he got this one right. He was going to take the case away on Monday and she had to spin a way out. Moriarty failed to mention Cobb was a convicted felon in possession of a firearm wanted for violating a protection order. Is she not enforcing protection orders anymore? Cobb had motive, opportunity and the means to felony flee the officers. She lied when she said he was surprised by the officers. He was told 15 times to exit the vehicle. He knew he was wanted and was going to fail because it had happened several times before. Lets release the evidence submitted to the grand jury, all of it. Justice was served.

This woman needs to be fired especially spending tax payer money to hire out of state attorneys, not to mention for her wanting to charge a law enforcement officer for doing his job if Cobb would have just simply complied with lawful orders. He would be alive and well. Cobb chose his own path.

The family will still get justice in the form of monetary compensation. Sometimes justice is option a or b or c, not all of the above. The public has grown tired of violent / habitual criminals and there isn't much sympathy for them these days.

Im not a fan of police and what they get away with...but this was obviously not the case. This cop was not overly aggressive, he was not hostile and demanding, he didnt threaten or scare the driver..this was a political move by the da.
