Framing a Shed Door

In this video I am Framing the Shed Door opening. I start off with 2x4 king studs on the sides of the opening. Next I use trimmer boards inside those king studs. On top of the Trimmers I install a header. I use two 2x6's sandwiched together to make this header. On top of the header are cripple studs. These are little blocks that connect the space above the header to the top plate.

Great video. Those walls do get a bit heavy. Luckily the wind wasn't too bad.

I really enjoyed this video my friend. I'm eagerly awaiting the rest of this build. I think that's a Perfect quote for a T-shirt "I'm not a pro, take this for entertainment value" - LOL You do great work and I admire your initiative to be productive as often as possible. I thought your floor framing video said you were putting this main door to the downhill side in line with the back door. I see you changed your mind and put it in the center; may I ask what changed your mind?

Thank you. I think that I changed for aesthetics and practicality. Thinking that the atv and lawnmower needed some space over on the side without the door.

I noticed in your video that you were carrying 2x4s on top of your SUV I too have an SUV and I was curious how you were going to transport the larger sheets of plywood roofing materials etc. Do you have those delivered or do you have a way of transporting those yourself. Thank you for your video as I'm moving to the Asheville area myself from Alabama

I have hauled so many things on that little car. I use a rhino rack. Checkout this part of the shed build at time 11 45. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nsCfdcdylq_VoGQ.html I have hauled up to 4 sheets of 3/4" plywood at a time. Thats about max 😄
