My PMA testimony: There ain't many I admire more than Gerald!! He's far from perfect, he don't have a KVD career as far as trophies go & sometimes he'll rub you the wrong way, no matter how big a fan you are. At the same time it don't take a perfect person to impact someone elses life!! Often times it's those who have more flaws than average!! Often times it's someone who don't do anything except find a way to put one foot in front of the other & keep going!! Often times it's those who've fallen hardest, or who've hurt the most that help show other people an easier way to get back up after getting knocked on their butt!! We learn most from our biggest failures, toughest losses & worst mistakes!! Gerald just ain't afraid to admit that he's struggled, failed, lost hope & struggled hard as a man!! He ain't afraid to say that he's damaged in a lot of ways!! He damn sure ain't afraid to tell you to keep your head up, to keep fighting, to keep smiling, to love those that mean most with all you've got!! Above all, don't ever give up, don't ever quit, no matter how bad it gets!! Hes seen that people can overcome anything!! It may not be easy & it may take some time!! The things is, if you keep going forward, keep finding a reason to be thankful, grateful & kind to people, keep reminding yourself of your goals & keep coming forward; NO MATTER WHERE YOU STARTED, ESPECIALLY IF YOUR AN AMERICAN, YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR OWN LIFE & IRREGARDLESS WHERE YOU CAME FROM, IF YOU WANT SOMETHING BAD ENOUGH, YOU TAKE A FEW RISK, MAKE A COUPLE SACRIFICES & IF YOUR WILLING TO DO WHATEVER IT TAKES FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES, PRAISE GOD, BECAUSE YOU CAN END UP JUST ABOUT ANYWHERE YOU WANNA BE IN THIS LIFE!! Thanks G!! From the bottom of my heart!! I was a junkie's junkie!! I had the most beautiful & special woman God ever put on earth. I got kids, a family & friends that I still can't believe are related to me because they are so awesome!! I ain't come from plenty of money, but I come from damn good people & I lucked into a very awesome career!! Gerald, I literally would not have traded places with any man that's ever lived, not named Jesus Christ!! I was honestly living the American Dream!! Then, over a very short time I managed to lose them all, to lose my job, Hell son lost everything except for the unexplainable heartbreak that I brought onto myself for what I did to those I love most, to those who love me far more than I'll ever deserve!! At rock bottom in a drug treatment center I had to make the most difficult choice of my life!! Literally move as far from East Kentucky as I could & NEVER HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH MY FAMILY EVER AGAIN because I couldn't hurt them any more without jumping into traffic man!! But I'd have to leave because I stayed a junkie & quit & failed as a man!! What I just said was was one option & believe me, THERE WERE LITERALLY ONLY TWO OPTIONS I COULD PICK FROM!! The second was to fight this thing, to look Satan right in the eyes & choose love over suffering!! The ONLY OPTION I had besides leaving my family forever, was TO DO WHATEVER IT TOOK, TO DO ANYTHING & EVERYTHING IT TAKES FOR AS LONG AS I HAVE TO TO NOT ONLY GET CLEAN, BUT STAY THAT WAT EVERY DAY UNTIL THEY COVER ME WITH DIRT!! G, I'm not proud to say that I almost chose the first option!! I honestly think I would have if I hadn't started watching KZfaq videos of my first love... bass fishing!! If I hadn't had you, not just to help my mind straighten out by watching fishin technique (which it did), but to share a message, to share a little hope, to remind me that I was still a good man & became a junkie!! If I was a good man before, we'll that tells me I can be an even better man in the not too distant future if I just do the right things & work my guts out to be that man!! PMA was something else to me, it's wasn't coming up with a reason to be positive in any situation. PMA to me was being honest & real with myself about the things I've done, what I've lost, the failure/loser I'd became & taking full responsibility for putting myself in the place I was & for living the life I was living!! I was positive of all those things!!! Here's the only awesome & amazing thing about owning all of that!! Being positive that since I had the power & ability to put myself there, since I'd screwed it all up & lost everyone, I knew that I also had the power & ability & burning passion to get myself out of there!! You helped me see that I could win my life back, I could win my family back, I could win back a career!! We could have it even better than we've ever had it as long as I made it better!! Gerald, man, insist here in tears, fighting back a flood of emotion when I think about the last 9 years!! It was pure Hell at times!! I will NEVER face anything like I have going through this!! I wouldn't wish my journey on any decent person because good people don't deserve anything that brings that kind of suffering & destruction to an innocent, loving family!! Mine sure didn't!! But G, after 9 long, hard, brutal years, I won!! I beat it!! My wife, who's honestly more beautiful than ever is 10 feet away from me right now!! My kids are 20 yards away from me in their beds right now!! I'm blessed to get up in the morning & go to a job that provides for my family's needs & wants!! I'm closer, the love is deeper, the joy is sweeter & the problems don't seem as big with my family, my sister's, my parents, my friends & surprisingly, my community than IT HAS EVER BEEN!! I work in my community I Kentucky's eastern most county to keep our young people away from the poison out there!! And I fight against the dealers pushing this stuff into our homes!! I keep just one person, one kid from going down that road then my community work is a booming success!! Swindle, brother, I won't lie though, there's a small part of me that will ALWAYS WANT TO SHOOT DOPE!! I fight that part of me every single day!! But you helped me see that I have a choice!! I have to tools to choose whatever path I go down next!! As scared as I get at times, man, I'd jump off a cliff before I'd get high again!! Before I'd hurt the woman God put in this earth for me before I'd take away the man he put here for her, before I'll make my kids fatherless & betray my community & my friends, Gerald I'd jump out a window first brother!! I can be crazy, I've been that for over 35 years now. Haha. What I can never be again is high!! You went & still go a long way in me being a man I'm proud as Hell to be!! I get better when u can & I mess up all the time, I fall short every day I get out of bed!! But you know what?! I'm positive that I get to live the life I choose to live!! It's not always easy, lots of times it's hard for all of us!! Son life sucks sometimes & it's so hard raising kids in today's world. But man, I know what true happiness is today!! I know now what love, sacrifice, loyalty & fighting for those you love, true appreciation,, heartbreak, causing suffering, struggling & causing struggle, humbleness, community & true happiness really are & what they really mean!! I thought I did 9 years ago, but I didn't have a clue!! If you see this & I doubt you will, I have to say thank you for playing a roll in me getting here Gerald!! Thank you for spreading the message & not being afraid to be vulnerable, or to look or feel week!! Thank you for being a man with problems helping other people with problems because it's the best way to help!! I know you'll keep fighting the good fight with LuLu by your side!! Were two men who know what it is to be blessed every time we look at our wives!! She deserves a lot of thanks also, so LULU I hope you know that your appreciated to my friend!! You know no matter how in control you think you are, once your attitude goes you go. I've been down a road that I wouldn't wish on anyone. I watched my Mother pass away on a Friday, the following Friday I was visited by one of our local police men that I know and informed my brother had passed in the night. The following Saturday I watched my father pass. Three in a matter of weeks. I broke....My mind could not process the feelings. But once I came back from the abyss (Which took awhile), I learned to look for the good things in life. You have to look at the things that bring you the good memories, the things that God intended you to have. Yes we will have sorrow and pain but joy and love out weighs all. Take care and I wish all the good things that you deserve to come. You have a platform to change lives. Good job in using that platform. (I'm off my soapbox now)

I followed G-Man since he was with Quantum. Even though he left and went to Lew's. I still fish with Quantum reel's. I switched from spinning reel's to Baitcaster's reel's until they became Popular again. Now I fish both. I watched Gerald's fishing videos. I have not been skunked in over 3.5 years. Sometimes I only caught one. But I caught one. I have even had a Bass fishing "Flurry" Where, I caught over 45 bass in 1hr and 15 minutes. It was more than that! But,That's when I started counting! The G-Man's video's on PMA changed my life. I was grenading my life with negative thinking. Home, Work and Fishing. After listening to him explain his theory on PMA. I decided that I was going to change my attitude in 30 days. Following the "Rubberband" method. My wrist was black and blue from pulling it and letting it snap back. Everytime I had a negative thought. Let me tell you it hurt. I mean it hurt! From all of those snaps! My life got better and better and better. This May 5th I learned I had Prostate cancer. It was a 5 out 5 on the aggressiveness scale. I learned about the Prostate cancer after a PSA simple blood test that checks for evaluated PSA in your blood. Went through the Prostate Biopsy and yes it was true! I had Prostate cancer on the left side. But it hadn't come through the Prostate. Bonescan showed that it hadn't been released into my Lymph notes. But the time bomb was ticking. I continued fishing and keeping a positive attitude. Just this August 22 2022. I had my Very Cancerous Prostate taken out. It's called Prostatectomy by Radical Robotic Surgery. 5.5 hrs under the knife. It's been 9 weeks since then. I am back to work now. God was there all the time. From the get go! My wife nursed me back to health. But, If I hadn't watched G-mans video on PMA. My before attitude would have still been there. Not sure how it would have turned out. So thanks, To God, My Wife and The G-man! I am alive and still fishing. Looking forward to my next PB! Get your PSA blood test next Doctor visit! It will save your life! It did mine. Shawn.

I met Gerald about 20 years ago, when I was an observer (precursor to the Marshal program); Gerald, Steve Kennedy, Greg Hackney & Scott Rook were at my table for the pre-tournament lunch. Gerald was one of the funniest people I've ever met. Ended up riding with Rick Clunn & Skeet Reese, Rick was already the GOAT back then. I love B.A.S.S. first joined in the mid-70's and purchased my life membership in 1988. I am very proud of what Gerald has done with his life & how he has used his story to inspire others.

Great stuff. One of a kind!!!!! Just wish the interview was longer than 8 minutes. I can listen to him for hours!!!!!!!!👍🙏
