Right now most of us are suffering through the effects of a global pandemic, one way or another. And perhaps one of the best ways to deal with such collective pain is to listen to those who have already overcome serious trauma in their own lives. Fran Drescher has survived both a vicious sexual assault and uterine cancer, and has managed to find ways to turn those experiences into something positive.
On this episode of Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu, Fran Drescher talks openly about the mistakes she made when first trying to heal, then describes what actually worked. She also details the efforts she makes to trust and take control of her body, discusses what it really means to live in the present moment, and even shares some simple actions anyone can take that kill viruses.

What an incredible woman, I really can't believe how on point every bit of wisdom she gives is. This is what "woke" is supposed to look like. So genuine, so much integrity, so much wisdom. And to top it off she is absolutely beautiful, just as stunning as she was in her Nanny days.

This interview spoke all the words I have never been able to say. It is my story very much. I had a traumatic childhood, was raped in my home and became pregnant and raised twins from that experience, as well as surviving brain cancer. I did not have proper support and as a result, spent decades of my life not knowing or understanding myself or how I was allowing the trauma completely to rule my life. I have been homeless many times because I run when things become too much. Thank you, Tom, for this interview and thank you, Fran, for your wisdom.

Hey Lisa, I'm sorry you had to go through so much. Running from pain is just a normal human response, and I don't think people recognise how heightened, overwhelming and painful emotions can feel after a traumatic experience. I hope you are able to develop the strength to face those emotions, heal and find the support you need and deserve.

I have been binge watching the nanny and happily divorced and came upon this looking for indebted and I am SO grateful I found this. It's been 11 years since the home invasion and SA but to this day I still jump, I still get scared, I have nightmares of locking all my doors only for the doors to be wide open when I turn around.... not actually dealing with trauma isn't a choice sometimes... we're taught to move on to be strong... its wonderful to hear another survivor talk about the actual steps and tools towards actually healing. Good bless you fran, 🙏 the world is blessed to have you

Thank you for sharing such a sensitive and personal part of yourself MsDrescher! -- Going back to you Tom... you made a specific comment, callingout Fran's astute link between her trauma and her development of Uterine Cancer as "Weird." And then you glossed over her response. By dismissing her followup with "interesting" and then launching into your monologue about using psychedelics you are negating the point of Fran's whole answer to your question. She was giving you the GOLD... the very nugget of her answer to your original question was about “How She Overcame/Dealt/Survived” the trauma she went through.
The GOLD Fran was getting to is the mind-body connection to how WE CREATE our own issues/dis-eases… The QUEEN of understanding this truth is Louise L Hay… look at her book “You Can Heal Your Life” - Page 185… Cancer comes from “Deep Hurt. Longstanding resentment. Deep secret or grief eating away at the self. Carrying hatreds. A mindset of “What’s the Use?” Your real followup questions should have been about -- “How did you get to your understanding of the mind-body connection” Then she would have shared her path that could have been really helpful for other people.

I just came across this channel for the first time, when I read Frans name, I decided to watch it, thinking it was a few minutes and will be a funny clip. I did not know about Frans real life, with her smile one assumes is all good. This interview has been very good, as the questions and her answers were so spontaneous and profound. With all her traumas and growing pains, her selfbeing cultivating and growth, is simply wonderful. I was a fan during the Nanny sitcom years, that show itself was a therapy; However the serious and real life issues, that she shared are very inspiring and admirable, just to see her smile, makes one feel better and appreciate the beauty and kindness this woman iradiates, and helpus realize the human kindness. Thank you for this interview, really helpfull at this changing life style times we are facing. Blessings.

gotta love the internet...in 2 hours i went from accidentally seeing her on 1995 Letterman show, to a more mature and in depth interview with her ex husband in 2017, to intentionally watching this profound session. So amazing and can relate to when I am totally out of sorts ....lost in my mind's past trauma and regrets or letting future tripping "rob" me of the present moment. Today i was playing the drums and accidentally hit the painted wall with my stick and just looked over at the wall to make sure it wasn't scratched and noticed some mundane detail of the paint texture and it sucked me right into the present moment so it's funny to me she used the example of her ceiling corner...Love this video and love her .....incredible strength and knowledge and experience. Pain into purpose, so good. i'm turning a negative into a positive these days and it's proving to be not only healing but uplifting.

Then I switched to pot and now I'm abusing that and to those that do not believe weed is NOT addictive?? Hmmm....let's agree to disagree. Much like this video what I'm realizing is I'm running from something and going nowhere. She's 100% correct that you must face the pain. Embrace the pain. Process the pain.
