Somaliland economy: International investments remain a challenge • FRANCE 24 English

Жыл бұрынSomaliland is a self-declared state in practice even though technically it's still seen as being part of Somalia. This lack of diplomatic recognition makes it difficult to keep development plans on track. The country's GDP is estimated to be about 3.5 billion euros, for around 5 million inhabitants, an extremely small sum. Though Hargeisa insists it's politically stable compared to its Somali and Ethiopian neighbors, attracting international investment is still difficult.. FRANCE 24's correspondent Bastien Renouil tells us more.

Somaliland is failed committing genocide in SSC no investor should invest bcs Berbera Port Goods can't travel far out of Somalilnd controlled beyond Wajaale or Ceynab Border which SSC Khatamo State is Controlling Now.

Foreign investments aren’t always the priority or automatically favourable.Countries like ours need to first exploit their own resources before inviting others to do so.Especially when the current system is already very skewed in the favour of the powerful states.

@@isseyare837 yeah mix up between GDP per capita and GDP they have 3x Somalias GDP per capita, 1/4 of people in poverty compared to somalias 7/10, so its confusing when someone says its the poorest country yet at the same time doing better then other "richer" countries in the area.

@@isseyare837 It also has several bombs going off weekly, an economy solely propped up by foreign aid and an entire green zone with 20,000 foreign troops, CIA and other mercs. Some parts of the city are lawless and run by clan chieftains. Al-shabaab extorts the markets threatening traders! Thousands of IDPs surrounding the city! Is this what u call success? You don't even control anything outside mogadishu
