The series opens with this short film of Julia Blackburn talking about meeting Bacon, in the light of her father's friendship with Bacon.
First Impressions is directed by Harriet Vyner, and produced by the Estate of Francis Bacon in partnership with HENI Talks.

I’m currently reading Mark Stevens and Annalyn Swan’s biography of Bacon and watching this series between reads. It really brings everything to life. Thank goodness for daughters. She must have navigated some complicated emotional territory while she pulled together all this information about her father. She’s a charming woman. I have to say that while Francis Bacon must have been a real handful to deal with, you can understand why people liked him so much. Thank you for this series!
