I'm also an INFJ, and those types of villains are one of my favorites, too... Guess that explains a lot.

As an INFJ, deep down I actually hated them. Because from a young age I knew what I can do to others by being manipulative. I saw it as being weak to get others to do your bidding instead of doing it yourself. So, I only use my skills to push people to do what they want to do, if I see those goals as alright that is. I mean one of the best logics to follow as an INFJ is to think, "Don't do something to others you won't like being done to yourself." But... I also try to follow the principle of "An eye for an eye." So, I might do something evil similar to the evil you have done to me, at least I try to, but most of the times fail to do anything about it by being too considerate...

Even worse: an INTJ as the mastermind, with an INFJ mentor, an ENTJ grand ruler taking advice from the INTJ, with an ENFJ second in command for show. They hired all ESTJ to command, and an ISTJ army to follow all rules, and well paid ISTPs to get everything done. They also have a brainwashed following of ESFJs. Let’s hope and ENTP or INTP doesn’t rebel, or even worse, a good ENTJ or ENFJ starts a revolution.

Exactly, you get it now. If we are so empathetic, wise and attuned to the desires of others that means we have the potential to be the exact opposite. Especially because we can know anything about people, what they love, what they hate, their strengths and weaknesses and use it against them. Destroy what you love the most to deeply hurt you to your core identity. It also allows to manipulate people to lead them to do everything you want to accomplish your vision. That means you can also indirectly have people' skills at your disposal and thus ultimate power. They can even think they're acting for the greater good and being profoundly wrong but they'll think what they do is right to the end so no compassion will be allowed. Hitler is the best example of the worst an INFJ villain can do, finding effective ways to destroy someone's mind entirely or do that on a larger scale. Make the entire world experience the deepest emotional pain, tortures and sufferings. The greatest INFJ villain wants to destroy humanity itself as a all. That's why honestly even if INTJs are the classical mastermind villain, INFJs make better villains and the scariests in my opinion cause they can be so harmful and directly attack humanity and the human mind itself.

It’s ironic to me that very mature INTJs can turn out to be extremely self-sacrificial and will use their mastermind capabilities to create a plan that puts them in danger so that many people will be safe. They can also have the ability to empathize with those everyone else thinks is too difficult or too evil to empathize with (i.e. criminal/villain minds) The thing is, these kinds of INTJs often end up going unnoticed behind the scenes or will be misrepresented. They’re really underrepresented in literature and and even more so in film, but they’re the kind of hero I want to be as an INTJ. On the other hand, INFJs can, as discussed, use the qualities Western culture celebrates so much and turn them into evil. INFJ villains really are the kind that fly under the radar and look like heroes. As amazing as INFJs are (my father, a counselor, is one), we cannot forget that they have potential for evil like everyone else. INTJs, as easy as it is to assume they are evil, can be good in ways that people are afraid to emulate because it is so selfless. Every type has the potential for great evil or great good.

But it makes perfect sense when you think about it, when you mature you start learning to use the parts of you you're the least comfortable with. So as you said, INTJs who can tend to be more self-centered and self-interested from the start will start acting in a more considerate and selfless way and put themselves into danger for others. That also means that in the same way, mature INFJs who where already selfless, interested in satisfying others, ready to sacrifice themselves for the community will start being more self-centered and more self-interested and stop empathizing so much to give more attention to themselves. It's like switching basically, you learn what the other already has. That's why I think the INFJ x INTJ relationships are so crucial in life. Maybe any INFJ and INTJ should have their own INTJ and INFJ to mature very fast because they get each other since they're so similar but also offer a brand new perspective at the same time. I guess with maturity though these INTJs will learn how not to be misinterpreted anymore and to communicate their ideas accordingly to their real intentions. You're right this kind of INTJ characters are rarely portrayed. Maybe because it's too far from the stereotype and it's not every writer who will go that deep into writing. Also maybe because the less stereotypical a character is, the less their core identity is recognizable. You might even not get this character is actually an INTJ because he's so mature. That's a challenge. How to write a nuanced character and keep it recognizable ? You'll probably need few moments where this character will still be a bit immature or will take decisions which satisfy logic more. That really makes me happy to hear that's the kind of person an INTJ wants to be cause as an INFJ that's already what I typically believe in. And yes, as you say INFJs really are the kind of villain that flies under the radar because they're so discreet in the first place and normally know how to appear this way or the way they want to people. Even if that's not inherently bad qualities, that's qualities that if used with the most malicious intents can become very problematic. The ironic thing is INFJs are conscious of this themselves and are actually afraid people will find it creepy and won't accept them because of these qualities they possess so they'll precisely tend to hide it from people. The tragic thing is they sincerely have the best intentions for others but their qualities turned bad can do so much harm. That's why INFJs always want to avoid using their dark side at all cost because they're so afraid of it themselves and don't want to unleash it. So yes, don't forget they have the potential for evil like anybody but don't reject them for that. You might even provoke evil by doing so. Just respect them for what they are and believe in their genuine want to help humanity. It takes a lot to get some form of evil from some types, and this is one of them thankfully. People usually wondered why I was so focused on being a good person and why I had such high standards I didn't deviate from when I was young but it's precisely for these reasons. I can't really allow myself not to be considerate of others because if I start acting for myself only without caring at all, I can be so dangerous. NEVER ask an INFJ to acknowledge their dark side more, they should always repress it, at all costs. Other types of people can if they want because they're not so insightful and don't represent such a threat so they can't really make that much harm, INFJs can. My opinion is that introverted intuition (Ni) is a function with such a destructive potential. It's no coincidence if INTJs and INFJs make great villains. The worst is that's the function we understand the least. It's true, same goes for INFJs actually when they're in their natural state and healthy, others usually don't want to go as far because such level of selflessness can intimidate people so they're constantly misunderstood and that's how they are on a daily basis. But INTJs are capable of showing the same attitude when people see through the bluntness and they start to be more comprehensive. I have a personal theory that people with low T functions and high feeling functions are actually more dangerous than more thinker people who naturally have low feeling functions when they're unhealthy because feelers will shut down their emotions and use their thinker side in a evil way when I think thinker people will show their emotional side more and I think the first one can be more dangerous overall for society than the second one. So you should be more careful not permitting feelers to be unhealthy versus thinker but that's just how I see it.

In fiction, I love my villains and you describing yourself that way is exactly one of the villain origin stories that butter my bread. As an INFJ, I've seen a lot where people call my personality type the Hitler Jesus and a family member of mine told my mom that if nurtured well, this child will either go on to become the greatest thing that happened to this world or the worst. And I was a freakin toddler at the time. But honestly when I think about, yeah, I can see how I can go Hitler mode especially in this day and age where everybody and everything is a minefield; one wrong step and BOOM! you're cancelled. So if my years of gathering unbiased information from multiple diverse sources and individuals is not "sensible" or sit right with you after listening to your concerns and problems gently, patiently for sooo long, boy I will shove "sense" into you whether you like it or not. And everybody who dares to be the same the that individual. I may be known as a good listener and I know I am patient as Jesus but if people stubbornly refuse to see reason because they're feelings are more important, I lose my patience and go dictator mode.

As an INTP, I'm very open to being proven wrong, but on the occasion it happens, I'll just quietly back down from my argument as opposed to outwardly admitting it. Also the monologues and maniacal laughs do show up when I'm in the mood. I suspect it's a shadow type thing since exhaustion and stress bring it out more than anything else.

Hard to know. You can imagine all the horrible ways to punish people, but until you were there witnessing/executing that punishment, you can't really know whether you could actually stomach it. I certainly don't know if I could.

No. As an INFP who has gone through vengeance and regreted it, it's not that we have bad memory but it's in our nature to forgive easily. But if someone hurt our friends, it kind of sticks... because we're a different kind of empaths. Things affect us more than INFJs (i think FJ covered this in a previous video). What I didn't take into account when completing my revenge for others is how it would affect me to see my nemesis down and defeated. Perhaps this part is just me but I know she deserved it, and no one knew i was behind it, but it hurted to see her cry and regret and think about what her defeat would affect her younger siblings. Surely she should have thought it through before doing the deed but I also empathized and understood why she had to live like that and put others down in order to make sure to end up on top.

From the prequels, Palpatine made me think he was more extroverted. He became the Chancellor himself. He didn't let someone else play the part while he was pulling the strings or get thick with the dude and stage a coup at the right moment. INTJs are more like ninjas. We will step up and be a leader when we have to but we don't like the limelight. We might take credit but not glory.

@@afrosamourai400 people often state the Morgana was ENFJ I don't see it. I think she is an INFP. Her motivation is that she was hurt by Uther, Merlin and Arthur. In fact I think she only hates Arthur because Merlin and Uther cared about him and so he becomes her target to get at those two. She never uses her charm to convince someone to her side, she doesn't even try this with Gwen. Her duplicity is not the same as manipulation. She isn't really about the greater good for magic users either, she just wants revenge and the crown (possibly to feel safe). I don't feel she exhibits ENFJness in either her early season goodness or her villain arc. She is though badly written -- sadly --- which makes her inconsistent and difficult to type.

The INTP villain is nothing more than the well known stereotype of the mad scientist. This type of villain is very interesting cause they don't do anything inherently bad, they're just too curious. But the INTP villain proves the best the importance of moral values cause they're specifically dangerous for the reason that they don't have any.

another example of an INTP villain while being more of an antagonist than a villain, i think Bondrewd deserves a mention, this guy not only experimented on countless homeless kids giving them “purpose” in his point of view to search for a way to traverse the abyss without being afflicted by the curse, he sacrificed HIMSELF just for the sake of research, he sacrificed his humanity and morality to become a white whistle and immortalizing his consciousness while descending to insanity just to be able to conduct his researches and save everyone from the 2000 years cycle thats about to come and guess what? He achieved so many things from tasteless bars that contain all the nutrients that you need to survive to AN ENTIRE PLACE LED BY HIM IN THE 5TH LAYER acting as a safe spot for raiders to settle in while also leading to the 6th layer (minus all the child experiments including child mutilation which by the way Bondrewd actually loved and cared for those children even remembering all of their names and hes done more things but the comment is already too long) Also didnt Tucker just do that for the sake of his license i havent watched the anime but someone mentioned that

@@azerim2039 i believe every part of JJBA is worth watching though yes a main villain's appearance like Kira's apparently made Part 4 gain more appreciation to other fans, lol you have the same enneagram as him. I'm an ISTJ 1w2 like Bruno Bucciarati in Golden Wind though.

@@neonangelsrequiem09 That's why I was talking about Enneagram and Kira. ISTJ 9w1 just don't really exist in media. In popular anime there are literally 3 of them: - Rei in Evangelion (kind of) - Kira in JoJo - Langa in SK8 That's literally it. There are a bunch of ISTJ 1s and 6s but 9s are quite rare. Which is funny in a way because both ISTJs and 9s are some of the most common types by themselves.

@@azerim2039 yea an interesting dynamic actually, still flips me over. Kira himself as a villain noticeably lacks the typical 'ambition' or strong pursuits/passion that most villains have, just that he can manage to keep his routines especially his perverseness as i can see type 9 fueling his laid back side more. I'm least familiar with nines but i can imagine them actually being quite popular, given the characters you've mentioned.

@@Tontoquienloleation I'd say in his fearless experimentation with potions. His (IMO) fairly clear dominant introverted feeling leaves only INFP or ISFP and I really don't see Se in him. He isn't very engaged with the physical world (bad at sports, doesn't dress well) and much prefers to dive into exploration of ideas.

He's a clear INTJ. Cold, calculated, emotionally unexpressive double agent. Who can keep his cool even amongst most evil characters (imagine sensitive INFP there?). It's true that he had strong feelings for Lilly. Though as often happens to INTJs, once betrayed they can't move on, sometimes for decades. Most INTJs have strong values which keep them from turning into a dark side. Ask any INTJ, they will tell you that now and then they have a temptation to use their cold, strategic mind and get what they want and use people only as pawns on their chessboard.
