Here is my review of the Ice Wizard, an As Seen on TV ice cube maker. It has been featured on HSN and in television ads, and I've had numerous requests for this over the past few months. I bought it at the official website, geticewizard.com.

actually i think it saves space by standing up, which is an orientation not many can fit into (because you dont put shit on top of your ice trays and it causes unused space above them) though its total garbage so id never get it
@GwyndolinOwO
@GwyndolinOwO 3 жыл бұрын
@@chrism7067 once our ice is totally solid we'll put stuff on top of them , during fall and winter we use ice a bit less but its not too hard to wiggle the tray out from something light. And having it upright would only work for some freezers. mine is one of those thin side freezers that has cubbies so there's only one or two it could fit standing towards the floor- but yeah. I do like seeing cool kitchen gadgets but this isn't one of them.

I think what really makes this a contender is that the entire thing kept falling apart when he tried to use it. The below contenders are awful or useless, but the general result of using them is, "huh, this doesn't really work that well" rather than, "this is a piece of junk that is falling apart while I use it." • The USB dishwasher These don't work any better than soaking. • The "topless" can opener Even if it worked perfectly, I would remain skeptical that this product is useful. • Insta-hang I'm not a fan of shelves that randomly fall. • Kitchen scrubbing gloves This wasn't as dumb an idea as potato peeler gloves, but it's still pretty bad.

Well idk I kinda think it might've been extra water building up and going over the sides. Like filling slowly would fix that and when I looked at the machine it looked like it was something along those lines the top chambers fill up and spill. Now that thing is still garbage I'm not saying it's not it's still one of the worst products I've ever seen. I would be very ashamed to have been a part of designing that. How did no say say hol up were really letting this go to market??? Of all the things you've reviewed (and believe me I've watched a lot!) for me this is the worst product I've seen you do. It was terrible! I'm now off to search for the infomercial to see how AMAZING it is! 😂 Edit: so I've just watched it, apparently the secret is the "spiral release technology!"

I love that there is a Pro tip for an ice cube maker. Apparently there are levels of ice making proficiency. Intermediate levels include water pouring proficiency and freezer door opening and closing.

This makes me grateful for the automatic ice maker in my fridge. If we didn’t have it I would still be using the ice trays from the dollar store.

I have had a problem with the dollar store ice trays. The hard plastic tends to become brittle when frozen and that can cause them to crack. But I've found an ice tray that works better than any other that I've ever used. It's shaped pretty much like a standard tray, although the ice cubes are shaped more like actual cubes. It is made out of silicone, the same kind that silicone bakware is made from. It also fills, cracks and empties like a standard tray. The only downside to it is that it can be a bit floppy and can spill when you try to transfer it to the freezer. But I simply fill it sitting on a cutting board and carry it to the freezer while still on the board, and then slide it right off onto the bottom of the freezer, easy peasy. Though I don't know how well that would work with your freezer drawer thingie.

Also fridge manufacturers need to improve their on board icemakers to accommodate bigger containers (like hydroflasks and water bottles [with wide necks]) and let out bigger amounts of ice. Yep if possible you can also find ice cube trays at your local supermarket. I see the silicone one at Safeway.

What I do is have a small plastic box/bucket to store ice, and then I have two standard trays. When they have become ice, i empty them into the bucket as soon as I can, and then refill the trays with water
