"You're dealing here with a fully qualified male strumpet." - Dan Aykroyd was great in every sketch.

Dan was 27 here, yet he really looks like his older self, like he's 40. It's impressive. This is a hilarious sketch, I love it.

I met Dan A proud after a Blues Brothers concert in Detroit in 1980 n was blown away by how EXTREMELY nice n cool n friendly he was!!! A very cool experience I'll never forget!!!

I saw this skit when I was on trip with my parents. They were out to dinner, and when they came back to the hotel, I asked them what a male prostitute was. My father threw a rod, but Mom just laughed. I was five years old.

How Dan Aykroyd never ever breaks character is incredible! When Dan did the Skit as Beldar Conehead on SNL. The one when Frank Zappa came to pick up his daughter Connie for a date. Zappa totally lost it as "Beldar" was consuming mass quantities during the father/date talk waiting for Connie! I almost peed my pants laughing! Frank is laughing and desperately trying to compose his character. All the while Dan didn't miss a beat continuing on conversation with food falling out of his mouth! What a fucking genius Aykroyd is. 😎

Of all the classic SNL sketches I think of this one more than most. It's one of the funniest things I've ever seen. All actors involved are gold.

Years ago, a male pro was actually sent to my mother's hotel room when she was on a business trip. She laughed him out of the room (he was about as appealing as Fred), then called me. We could NOT stop laughing!

Being one of the few people in Australia who actually does know the quad cities, I think there does need to be a celebratory statue built showing Fred at work.

The most impressive part was how he rattled off the Quad Cities without stumbling ha ha.

Classic! "I call this one The Snake." When this aired my brother and I were on the floor laughing hysterically. The 1st and perhaps most legendary SNL epoch.

When I was watching these episodes "live" back in the 70's, I used to just love the way Dan Aykroyd seemed to be pushing whatever he was doing to what felt like the limits of what you could get away with on TV. It was sort of like he was saying, if you move that line forward an inch, I will take that inch right fucking now. He always seemed to have this vibe of having more cards than he was playing, while still playing plenty of them. In some ways he was like the American version of John Cleese. Someone smart and in control but with something crazed and more intense about to explode through the veneer. That powder keg quality. They were both good at funny walks too. When I was a younger guy...every time he turned to the camera and said "Fred Garvin, male prostitute"...the look, the voice, the absurdity of the sudden sub-titles, the whole thing just killed me. So glad you they're posting these classics lately.

I think they must have strategically put very large graphics over Akroyd's face when he looks into the camera because each time it looks like he's about to explode into laughter.

Chris Farley was built for this role in the shadow of the greats. Too bad he left us too soon. Love that guy

I feel this is the funniest sketch Dan ever did. It's a one-off, but it's just the right amount of nuts to stand out. I mean, who could resist the Snake? 🤣🤣 And damn if I still don't think he's cute.

Watching this I realize there was an old episode of Roseanne where Dan has provocative pictures taken for Roseanne at the end of as n episode, and those poses are exactly the same as the ones Fred Garvin makes. Nice tribute John Goodman!

I know this might sound like hyperbole; but SNL doesn't get any better than this sketch. There are others that are just as funny; but this one easily contends for the top spot. It's all about Akyroyd. He's absolutely irresistible.

Btw my dad had a backseat driver's license as a joke from one of his buddies back in the 70s. I remembered seeing it a long time ago. He also had a pencil with an eraser at both ends. :-)

I'd forgotten how funny this skit was! I have been looking for that sport coat since I first saw this skit on a Best-Of countdown back in the 90s! Ridiculously plaid and gaudy. I could not love it more!
