2:47 Vince didn't prefer the WWE title over the World Heavyweight title - he generally just preferred whichever title was on Raw (and that just so happened to be the WWE title more often than not).

I will never view the World Heavyweight Title as a secondary title. Even to the WWE title. Just my personal feeling. That WH belt means alot to the athletes and it means alot to the fans that know the belts history.

From ‘88-‘98 the winged eagle was the prize. It meant something to see the belt on someone or to see them hold it after winning it for the first time. Constantly changing the design removes the belt from the championship with each new belt, if that makes sense. This new belt isn’t horrible, but every time they introduce a new world title it reminds you that they got rid of the last new world title. It is about the person. But it might be about how “this person deserves the real belt with the history behind it.” Whichever one that is at this point; is it the red, the blue, the black, the black with the scratch logo, the Cena spinner, the Undisputed….can you trace those back to the blue eagle and winged eagle without having to account for the WCW title being mixed in there? What about the big gold belt and how that works with being identical to WCW but a completely different championship? It’s a mess. The only consolidation of belts should have been with Jericho’s win in 2001. Personally I liked things just fine from 2002-2005 with the big gold and the Undisputed design. (I know I may have contradicted myself on the big gold, but that design gets a pass, I was just happy to see it again in 2002)

He's absolutely right. Vince has always treated Big Gold as a tester title.

I agree with Prinze Jr., It's all about the person holding the title, especially because of how WWE has conditioned us to not care about the titles anyways since there usually weren't compelling feuds/reasons/wrestlers involved with them, the design might be the nicest currently in WWE (it's just a slightly worse looking big gold belt from WCW & Ruthless Aggression era with WWE title plates and the new ugly WWE Logo, which looks a lot better than the WWE Universal championships.)

if you look carefully at the lions on it, then look at some of the older championships, has the lions with the McMahon crest...so this title looks like a title with Vinces thumbprint all over it...but a version of big gold. A compromise because he is hell bent on still making his "Jason Mamoa" clone the next Cena. Just let him be the Roman he can be and be satisfied...

They should have just left the WWE title by itself. There was no need for a Universal title in general. Pretty sure the UV title was just meant for Roman when it was being made. Now with the WHC coming back it just doesn't feel as important as it used to be. Even when Sheamus had it there was still prestige to it. What they should do is have one brand have both I.C and U.S titles. Then have the other brand take the Tag titles and Women's titles. That way we see more prestigious to those titles. As for THE world title Roman has, if what I suggested was the plan then it would make sense for him to only be on PLE cuz that would mean that title is only exclusive to pay per views. Which I wouldn't mind but because he's part time it sucks. I rather have a full timer.

I believe titles do matter because it says this is the guy it establishes that person because every beloved Superstar did not become that until they won a world title I think this is just the new age weak way of looking at things and no one said the world heavyweight title was a secondary title back in 2002 when Brock Lesnar took the WWE Championship to SmackDown

I still see the big gold belt as the WCW championship, even with the WWE logo now. It's the big prize that everyone looks great wearing. I can't unsee the WWE championship as an ugly spiny gimmick, so I have trouble taking it seriously. The Universal Championship similarly seems silly because the name implies challengers from Mars or the Andromeda Galaxy.

I don’t watch wrestling anymore so I’m a little confused, which titles exist now? The wwe, the universal, and the world heavyweight?? Does the IC still exist? Did they ever bring back the cruiserweight, European, hardcore, or 24/7 titles? And there’s 2 women’s titles now??

If Roman is never going to defend only 1 of his titles, then they are as good as unified anyway... if they are unified then there is no need to carry two belts. WWE should have framed some of his defenses for the Raw title and some for the Smackdown title... then some big matches for both. As is, it's just one title with an extra belt to parade around.

The reason exactly stated by the host. The WWE World Heavyweight championship is indeed a secondary championship. But if WWE were to reboot/Relaunch wCw and use it as there second promotion/brand it would give the championship the prestige that it should have. Right now the WWE is a mess with Roman Reigns holding what are two separate top championships even though the update the WWE is trying to make it one championship. The other thing when the WWE World Heavyweight championship is awarded it will make Roman Reigns NOT the unified champion.

It’s weird because Roman won the second world title against Brock. That’s why he is “undisputed.” Introducing another world title makes it a third (technically).

World Heavyweight Championship has more meaning to me than wwe championship or universal championship.

They can call it what they like but the new title has zero lineage, zero history. There's nothing wrong with that of course, you can build heritage from the ground up. AEW's title is trying to do that. What's weird to me though is that the WWE title is the most prestigious in all of wrestling and yet WWE treats it like a mid tier belt half the time. The WWE title has a direct link to the history of the WWF title and the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Those separate lineages merged into the Undisputed Title, which Jericho won and while there have been splits and merges since then, what you end up with is the WWE title being that ultimate belt. Not that you'd know it the way it's been treated compared to the Universal Title.

Hes right on the fact that nobody likes the new World titles (Romans 2 belts), but who has hated his reign as Champ? nobody.

So this is gonna be the third "world" championship since Roman is the "undisputed" WWE and Universal champ. So dumb.
