I appreciate the video sir. Straight forward, all the details needed are shown and it works out perfectly. You should do maintenance vids or vids of any other accessories you add.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll try and make that happen.

Thanks for the vid, few of these around but found yours to be the most straightforward.

can you install a potentiometer switch instead of a resistor? Is there a way to get around setting the E Brake?
@JT2JZАй бұрын
Yes a potentiometer will work and give you an adjustable rpm. Pto circuit needs to see the park brake on to work

Good video man, i have been searching for a in-depth up fitter vid for awhile haha. I have a 16 with BD adjustable idle, I’ll have to try this and see if it works for me as well I’d love hi idle with remote start. Btw nice deck, I have a dark red long box with a limitless deck as well. I am wanting to rock guard as you did but debating on black of color ‘matched’
@JT2JZ4 ай бұрын
Thanks man. This is my first ford but I’m enjoying it so far! I wish my rock guard was Color matched but I think the black is a little more durable. Love the limitless deck. My only complaint is the ramp. I wish it had full superglides because it’s hard loading my gsxr1000 timbersled.

Did you just stuff the resistor into the wire? Can’t quite get a crimp connector on it, and when I could it didn’t work
@user-kw1li4wk9o2 ай бұрын
And are you able to trim the resistor without changing the resistance?
@user-kw1li4wk9o2 ай бұрын
Nevermind! Don’t let the colorblind guy do wiring
@JT2JZ2 ай бұрын
Yes you can trim it. I folded my ends to make it easier to crimp

Hello so I did the mod and the truck will attempt to start and die quickly sometimes and sometimes it works perfectly. I am going to go over all connections I was just wondering if you have heard of this happening in case the connections are good? And I was wondering if you ever rerouted your ccv hose and if that helped with dripping oil? Mine is good I just remember you having that issue
@JT2JZ2 ай бұрын
Make sure your park brake is engaged and the light comes on the dash. Sounds like the truck might be seeing something to disable the ptu. Make sure you don’t have any check engine lights / codes. Possibility a bad connection or wrong resistance wired in. I have not rerouted my ccv yet but it sounds like that will be the best fix from what other people are saying
@caseylee25552 ай бұрын
Thanks for getting back to me. The truck will die the first try and work the second almost every time with the park brake in the same position. If it’s seeing something it is either not seeing it the second time or just allowing it. It seems like maybe not enough fuel pressure at first but honestly no idea lol. Still haven’t checked connections but it works great the second try. Thanks again it’s still very useful even without remote start

Do the upfitter switches still work in accesory mode without the engine running?
@JT2JZ2 ай бұрын
With the key on yes. With key off no ( unless you modified it like I did in this video by repining the bcm )

Hey there, I have a question. 2012 F-250. Nothing has ever been done with the upfitters. I tried your high idle wiring and got nothing. I first tried upfitter #3 and it didn't work. So I figured I'd do it exactly as you did and I still get nothing. I've triple checked my wiring and it's correct. Any ideas?
@JT2JZ4 ай бұрын
Make sure your park brake is on. If the park brake is not applied when you hit the switch it will not activate the pto circuit
@scottsahling62314 ай бұрын
Parking brake was applied. Still nothing. Could the type resistor matter? The ones I got are 1/4 watt. A quick google seach says Ford recommends a 1 watt 22k ohm resistor. I just ordered some 1 watt resistors, arrive friday so I'll try that. I had a 2006 Super Duty and did the same mod, but it didn't require a resistor.@@JT2JZ

Parking brake was on, so still in the same boat. Would the wattage of the resistor matter? The ones I got are 1/4 watt 22k ohms. A quick google search said Ford recommends a 1 watt 22k ohm resistor. Maybe I'm frying that resistor at the flick of the switch?@@JT2JZ

So I put the 20k resistor in and it dropped the rpm down 400-500 rpm then went back to normal idle. Any suggestions?
@JT2JZ5 ай бұрын
The rpm will normally drop for a second when it engages and then raise up to the elevated idle. Make sure your park brake is on. Make sure nothing else is affecting the resistance on that circuit. Maybe double check your wire colours and make sure you have it connected the same as mine.

@shaunchristen4754 did you figure out this issue? Awesome video btw!

How do you pull wire from pin and then re pin into that harness?
@JT2JZ6 ай бұрын
There is a very small locking tab to release the terminal if you look really close at the bottom of the pin. Just push it into the new pin and it will lock on its own.
