Alex Ross + The Creature from the Black Lagoon? Sign me up! That was a bonkers deadline they gave Jusko. Makes sense why alot of those veteran painters and airbrush artists backed away from the industry, they had a rough go at it in the 90s with editorial deadlines.

Great FCBD brotha. You got some awesome books and Joe's sig looks amazing. I was fortunate enough to take my oldest daughter with me and we were able to get 5 different artists draw the teen titans team for my daughter. She got to meet Mike Lilly again and I told him that we meet him a couple of years ago and he did an amazing sketch of Batgirl for my daughter who at the time was cosplaying as her. So that was a cool interaction. Glad my daughter is into comics enough to hang with me for FCBD. This is what it's all about, being able to enjoy these moments with a new generation and hopefully they can continue on with this amazing hobby. 👊🏼

I read that Creature from the Black Lagoon issue (and mentioned it on my channel today). It is so, so good. Just loved it.

There were some really fun books for FCBD this year. I have been very curious to check out the EYE LIE POPEYE issue from the new manga inspired reboot by Massive. This new series is supposed to tell the origin of Popeye's missing eye (the one he always squints)! What a great idea! Also, there was the CURSED LIBRARY PRELUDE comic from the Archie horror universe full of arcane tomes and haunted grimoires. And then there was the ATLAS COMICS LIBRARY anthology from Fantagraphics which reprints a bunch of classic pre-Marvel stories and pre-code horror classics from the Atlas era. Those would have been my 3 picks, but I am also a huge Blade fan and collector so I gotta have the Blood Hunt prologue as well. I have already read the exciting first issue of the BLOOD HUNT event and the entire first wave of Tie-In issues. I have been eagerly waiting on this vampire takeover of the Marvel Universe event since it was announced. Anything that's got Blade, Dracula, and the Darkhold in it, sign me up big time!! And don't get me started on Universal Monsters! I can't wait for the new Universal Frankenstein series this fall! Also, I love Jusko's B&W Moon Knight cover from the original run. Great video. Cool comic hang. Keep on MON-ing!

I think when you're a comic book collector or some people call it a nerd there is something in your DNA maybe it's your like for art maybe it's your like for science fiction or horror maybe it's your like for finding something rare or valuable All those factors and throwing in things I'm not even mentioning it creates a a brotherhood of comic people. p.s. I just ordered the creature from the Black lagoon comic book myself I'm going to show on an upcoming episode and save it for my Halloween episode also.
