We're the only ones out here, camping in our tiny cabin on wheels at Toohey Lake, just south of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. We get out and do some hiking, sightseeing and enjoying the winter weather together.

I was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota. I know everything north of Hinckley Minnesota to the Canadian border and west to east. Well said! Social media is madness in my view. I also think if you have any kind of public profile, as these lovely people do, you have to protect yourself. You never know who is watching, there are some toxic, damaged and envious individuals out there! Riley is very wise.

Hey Jack! I went all the way back, and caught up on all your videos! You & Riley are the best couple to watch on KZfaq period! I hope Olivia is doing well, and to be in the future episodes to come! I had a rough year with getting a divorce of a 5 year marriage, and being alone now living in my own apartment that's also not my hometown is quite hard to adjust to this year. I'm prone to isolate myself, and not socialize with people. Finding your youtube channel was really a lucky gift! I feel like I'm virtually there with you guys on this fun adventure with every video. 🙂 I want to thank you Jack for doing what you do with putting out these videos for all of us to watch the journey. What a great and wonderful family you are. I cannot say enough about these videos you create. My wife and I are in our 80s. She is from and born in the Buel area. lived with family in Duluth, along the North Shore. I am an outdoors person like you. That whole outdoors is GOD'S WORLD. I just love what you and your family, and that cute dog do. Simply Amazing. Plus you look like Aaron Rodgers!!!!! One more thing , how do you shoot all the video of yourself and doggie?

I don't know which brought the biggest smile to my face: seeing Olivia (oh my gosh! She's so beautiful -- I think she has Mama's eyes!) or seeing Ellie bounding and leaping around the snow like a puppy (after her health scare, it does my heart good to see her well again). When you mentioned you were at Lake Superior, I kept hearing in my head the Gordon Lightfoot song, "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald", especially when you talked about how it can be in stormy conditions.

Please do not wait. One dream I had and planned for with budgeting, gadgets, caregiver and finances for my mom, trip tik, maps, where to car camp, visit, etc was to drive from beginning to end Route 66, USA when I turned 66. Well, I became visually impaired and put up my keys permanently and the one brother who had access to my accounts to pay mom's bills passed away suddenly front an aggressive cancerous tumor on his brain stem. I miss solo camping. Please don't wait to do something. Life is too short. Blessings.

I love how you appreciate every moment with Oliva. Time goes so fast. My youngest granddaughter is 14 and of course rather spend time with her friends than her grandmother I love watching your videos with your young family in the woods I am from Michigan and love the Great Lakes and the woods. I want to start by saying, that my husband and I are loyal subscribers. You and your wife are pretty adventurous. Also, I think it's cute😊 when you whisper when the baby's asleep. Hope you don't mind, but 5 girls later, I found out that it's a no, no. If you do that, be right quiet, that's what you will always have to do. Don't get me wrong... I did it to, but learned after many nights of my first girl waking up over anything at all. Watching you splitting wood reminds me of my parents cabin in Bragg Creek, Alberta, Canada in the 80's & 90's. Before they built their home on the same lot (all forest), we would have to cut the wood for heating in the big old 1910 Gurney stove and get water from the Elbow river just yards from the cabin. I learned how to do both. And the smell coming from the wood stove. Very treasured memories which our children remember.

I was so excited to see Rylie and Olivia with you this trip. They both look so beautiful. Olivia has gotten so big! The cabin looked so cozy. Loved this! I'm excited to see all the winter camp videos in the snow you make. If I were there, I'd probably just sit in the cabin, bundled up with a blanket and a cup of coffee and daydream out the window on the woods and snow. That kind of comfort is what's needed in the world today. Thanks for providing it vicariously.

Olivia has gotten so big! You like your bacon the same way my husband and daughter like theirs, hot but flabby, while my son and I like ours very crispy. You just do you and don't let viewers dictate how you eat. I know what you mean with loving the rain forest woods. I lived in Ketchikan, Alaska for four years and loved it. The natural beauty was amazing! I've lived in western Kansas for 24 years and while I enjoy its subtler beauty, I will always have a soft spot for AK. I'm so thankful that you and your family will grow and appreciate nature. I think it's something we've lost with technology.
