Not faking it….. when one lives in another country …. Accents change!

Its funny I'm watching this movie "intrusion" and I couldn't figure out her accent so I went down the rabbit hole. Now there is british and Australian in there lmfao, but apparently she was born and raised in india. You could add another few levels to this for sure. Pretty wild people do this but I suppose if she acknowledges its fake I wouldn't really care.

She can speak in whatever accent she wants, but having said that, that's clearly not an accent she picked up from just travelling and spending time with her British coworkers. She has obviously taken some serious voice lessons. Point to note is there are British actors (for example Matthew Rhys in 'The Americans') who speak in a flawless American accent to fit their role, but when they are interviewed they speak in their natural accent. Freida is clearly trying to fit in the international film scenario and maybe the hope is to get more opportunities for diverse roles - and that's all totally fine. But to think that she simply just picked up the accent is simply ridiculous. Accents and the way people speak do change a bit over the years, but not like this. I have lived abroad for 26 years - I think I would know!

Grow up. Look beyond accents. It's her wish. She must have learnt that accent.

She sounds amazing to me. Maybe not a really posh English accent. But only few English speakers I have met from India who can speak this fluently. I don't think other Indian actors are fluent like she is. Even in her old interviews she looks very confident with the language.

she had such a lovely non-accent accent - it was chirpy like birdsong. and now she sounds nothing but fake intertwined between indian and english accents. weird.

I will buy this video only if this is made for priyanka chopra too. Just because the other person is a bigger name she is spared and the rest are being bashed for their "fake" accents is not fair. Every indian actor who has done movies in the west have done this but only some people are ridiculed seems strange to me. If anyone has seen Jurassic world, Irfan khan did it too. Basically if we speak in "indian" accent , people in the west cannot understand what we are saying because there is a difference in pronunciation. So every small and big person who has worked in the west has done this. I remember Mallika sherawat was also ridiculed for her accent at the cannes few years ago. Aishwarya too. It is just something people have to do. So i don't agree with this video. Not a fan of Deepika Padukone but I think she is the only actress who didn't try to speak in a different accent when she worked in hollywood.

Epic fail, it is sad when people try to do fake accents and you can tell.

The thing is, In the name changing accent she is speaking faster and stretching individual words she thinks that pronouncing in that fashion seems stylish but I am sure it is not. I had lived in UK& Canada for 12 years, had roommates who are from various parts of UK, New Zealand and had lot of Aussie friends but this doesn't sound close to any accent from my experience. her accent looks so fake, Shes is trying so hard to fit in. Communication is not about accent its about how the other person comprehends the meaning given the context and fully understands. I am not judging her, she may be preparing for a roles where she needs different accents. But clearly it looks so fake to me.

I love her accent it's the best part of her personality but I do admit she was doing it over the top at koffee with Karan and there were so many cringy moment.......but it's the fact that she is among a few non-english speakers who speak the language with perfect pronunciation,accent and diction....

Woooowwww no need to be so hateful! I'm watching a movie she made least year ⟨2021⟩ called _Intrusion_ so her career DEFINITELY wasn't over when you claimed. I was looking to hear her natural speaking voice as I heard a slight accent in some words and being only five minutes into the movie, I was curious if it had to do with the film or if that's her natural speaking voice. You'd be surprised, many actors learn how to have "no accent" .. ‹honestly 'no accent' means a 'neutral American accent,' nothing regional about it at all.› My question to you «four years too late haha 🤭» is do you hate on Charlize Theron in the same way? She was born and raised in South Africa and ONLY spoke Afrikaans until she began learning English when she was *NINETEEN* years old. She wanted to be an actress, so while learning English, she also learned to speak with a neutral American accent to give her the best opportunities and whether _YOU_ personally agree with it or not, it was her choice, and she's done quite well for herself. So if Freida is working on accents or working to lose her natural accent in hopes of opening even _more_ doors for her, I think that's wonderful. Because she's a beautiful, talented actress.
