Failure to perform the job correctly can result in catastrophic engine damage.

The oil cooler replacement is going to similar to all DD13 DD15 DD16 OM 471 OM 472 OM 473 engines
It is optional to flush the coolant system more than 2 times but it will prevent damage to the coolant system.
the cleaning process will depend on how heavy is the oil contamination in the coolant system.
Do not use diesel to clean the coolant system.
This problem happened in Colorado, the TA road Service said that the engine head was bad and the engine needed to be repaired.
The driver drove the truck from Colorado to California without trailer and
With the coolant fan on all the time and with the coolant tank overflow cap open (the cap that is on the side of the tank)

Francisco, it seems to me you have a lot of videos in which the coolant must be drained. Do you have a list of items we can repair or "maintain" once the coolant has been drained? That way, not only can we be proactive in our maintenance practices, but also, there will be that much less coolant drained (and potentially polluting the atmosphere).

Si, ellos dicen que no es recomendado usarlo, El nuevo DD15 no tiene filtro de coolant. Yo personalmente lo uso porque detiene corrision, suciedad, y otra basura que puede probocar un daño al motor.

francisco una pregunta ayer le quite elntapon a.mi radiador y tenia aceite el tapon del radiador y muy pokito en el reservoir tank sera que esta malo el oil cooler el motor esta bien pero me saco de onda ese aceite en el tapon

Fleetguard has coolant system flush liqued(1gallon is 35-40$) designed specifically for HD trucks to flush 10-12 gallons system. Would save a lot of time cuz all you got to do is pour distilled water and flush liquid ,let it run for 10-15 mins at working temp and then flush it with clean water. Flushing this way take you only 1-1.5 hr(waiting included)

Anytime u drain coolant it's a good idea to change air compressor coolant lines. Faulty design from factory.

Hi when you do this, do you only drain the coolant from the radiator? Because ive seen videos of people draining some of the coolant from the left side of the engine as well. Is that required or is this method ok? Im looking to do this and just want to make sure my coolant system is clean. I just did my oil cooler repair. Thanks!

On the freeway, my coolant tank raptured at the top and I lost al the coolant. Tried to put water and get to the nearest shop which was few miles away. Upon reaching the store i found oil dipstick and the coolant had brownish liquid like coffee. What do you suggest i work on? Thank you.

Hey my friend. I have volvo vnl 670 with cummins isx 15 with 500hp. I noticed that in coolant reservoir there is oil but not coolant in the engine. No smoke. Power is the same. What can cause this ?
