Stupid Beyond Belief

Viera's passing at the age of 23 marks one of the youngest departures of a narcocorrido musician, and one that begs a few questions.
How big would Viera have been if he had not died only three years into his career? Saul Viera was known as "El Gavilancillo", and raised from the "post-Chalino wave" of Regional Mexican music. His career only spanned from 1995-1998, but is believed to have recorded anywhere from 15-16 albums while alive.

My mom was chatting with him inviting him for carne asada, and he said "sure when ever you like" real humble vato and he had cholo homies with him too, so that signed cd and cassette are my gold after his death, I put them in a frame and bought cds of those 2 again... Awesome video. Finally payed respects to a great one. But no youre wrong Saul stepped aside from the legend Chalino shadow. He has hes own style even though he might sing about the same things. Saul had the younger generations attention. Hes the first Pocho to apply himself in a strictly Mexican Native genre. To make it simple he was a Mexican American born in Cali with all his roots in Mexico singing about Mexican drug dealers in Cali and in Mexico. If anything the great Chalino would have loved to have this dude. Thats why when you speak Chalino Saul Viera pops up to. Chalino and Saul both lived in Paramount at the same time. Both are legends here and us Mexicans pass this story down to our kids. Dont let these legendary performers be forgotten.

Like someone already said in this thread. Adan Sanchez said in the song “La Corona de mi padre” He had a similar voice but with his own style. I disagree when you say he is forever in the shadow of Chalino because his songs don’t sound anything like Chalinos. When the song starts you can tell if it’s Sauls or Chalinos. He had a more danceable melody to his songs.

This is the story that Ive heard from someone that was real close with the father. In the years after the murder. After the father did some investigating on his own, one day got a phone call from Pedro Rivera (lupillo Rivera & Jenni Rivera’s father) telling him to stop investigating his kids murder and to leave things as they are unless he wanted to end up like his son. Like I said this is just what I’ve heard...
