Fresh spring rolls like you've never seen before. These healthy appies are what we call "noodles venturing into the garden"! Tuna, lots of veggies, herbs and wrapped into convenient bites with rice paper. They're gluten free and refreshing with a tart, herbaceous sauce. Great party recipe!

This was delicious!!! I used the veggies I had on hand - red cabbage, avocado, pickled daikon and carrots, cucumber, and red bell pepper. This may be my favorite spring roll dipping sauce of all times. It is so wonderfully refreshing with the cilantro, mint, and lime. Thank you!!!

This recipe is AWESOME! The cilantro sauce is just so good and a perfect flavor with the tuna. I even saved the leftover sauce to eat later. Must try!

I also used blanched cabbage instead of the sprouts and it was delicious.

I made this today thinking tuna would be a weird summer roll addition but wow it was great! I also added avocados and instead of alfalfa sprouts used spring mix! Would definitely recommend this recipe. I also did the creamy garlicky sauce too and that was equally as good!

Made these today for a quilters meeting on Kaua'i. No dipping sauce, though. Did the recipe but added chopped water chestnuts, chopped pickled red ginger, and a squirt of mayo (didn't have oyster sauce) to the tuna. Learning to roll them: you make it look easy.... For myself, I would have added a bit of heat to the tuna. Did have fresh mint! They were devoured. Thank you.

Do Huong It's just her take on Vietnamese fresh spring roll and called Thai food. Proof? Even Thai chefs confirm its origine. And quite a number of Thai people think Vietnamese ham "cha lua" is Thai food too. In Thai language it's called something like Mu Yor. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mL-DY9WHv9m9m2Q.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pd6gY7uTt7rNn58.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rr2ofNJ806u1mZc.html

Dear An Nguyen and your upvote. All the videos you posted are Vietnamese spring roll or what we called ปอเปี๊ยะสดเวียดนาม Porpia Sod Vietnam. Even the name tells where we got the recipe. However this fresh tuna spring roll is different. Different recipes, different flavor, Vietnamese spring rolls is mild. This one is spicy. If you insist that it's Vietnamese dish, then with the same logic, "Pho" is not Vietnamese but Chinese dish as well. Actually Pho is closer to Chinese noodle than the similarity of Vietnamese spring rolls and this fresh tuna spring roll. Plus I don't think you could say that Vietnamese spring roll was not influenced by Chinese spring roll. Their culture is older than yours and you adopted many of them, not to talk that they ruled you for hundreds -- some scholars even said thousand -- years in the past, so, with your logic, your Vietnamese spring roll, along with others dishes and even most of your culture aspect are all Chinese? Take just one sample: Áo dài . We can easily see that it's just Qipao with trousers, so it should not be called Vietnamese dress but Chinese dress taken by Vietnamese, right? Add that I have never heard anybody think Mo Yor crated by Thai. You comment is the first time I've read. Hope you don't mind if I tell you that cuisine is culture and culture spreads like liquid. It's not solid thing which has to stay at one place all the time. Noodle was first made by China, yet you have Pho. We have Khao Soi, etc. With the same logic you used, tempura is not Japanese food because it was Portuguese missionary who introduced the dish to Japanese; there are no French or American cheese since according to historical evidences cheese was first made in Egypt and Middle east; no German beer due to the fact that beer was first made by Ancient Egypt; no French wine because wine was made by Greek; Ice cream was first made in China so no Western ice cream at all; tomato, potato, and many more ingredients were found in America after the discover of the continent so any dishes with these ingredients should not considered as Italian, English, Polish, Irish food; etc. Like they said: better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt. To love and proud in your country is a good thing sir, but to be a chauvinist is another thing. It reflects who you are, how you were educated and if you were properly raised by your parents, not someone else. It shows nothing but stupidity. And if others look down at you, don't blame them, because it's you who make them think that way.

Pailin, love your recipes. By the way, do you tend to go to Vietnamese markets to get your herbs? If you live in Vancouver, you can find all sorts of basil, mints and herbs at Chong Lee markets ( one on East 22nd & Rupert and another on Victoria Drive) - Which is a Chinese /Vietnamese market, and there are a few other Viet markets on Kingsway around the "Little Saigon" area (between Fraser and Knight). But I've never seen Chong Lee run out of basil or mint either winter or summer.
