If you're ever interested in getting your NES working well again (assuming it's not a problem with the hardware/motherboard itself), you should check out this modification for the NES called The Blinking Light Win. It's a replacement for the 72 pin connector that the game cartridge plugs into to work. There exist replacements for the standard connector but this modification replaces the original loading mechanism inside the console so that it's a straight load and thus more reliable. I've had one on my NES for the past 3 years and my games work first time every time. All you'd need to do is partially disassemble the NES to swap parts but it's not too hard and there's tutorials on KZfaq that show what to do as well. Again this is if you're interested in getting that NES working properly again, you can also just get a different one or just emulate the games through clone systems like the one in the video.

@@dragonstormx I'm not too sure in all honesty. LJN would hire any developer to make a game for them based off any random license that they would grab during NES days but would not label their names in the game. But thanks to people like TCRF, they've managed to figure out many devs who made those games. From Atlus, to Rare, Beam Software, and so on.

Like many people, I heard of this game from AVGN, I was a teen at the time found it amazing. Although even then , I was really unimpressed with this. I did find the Freddy's Game way more faithful to the movies. As a fan of the series I really do appreciate you added in the fun facts from the series. I should say the Pamala head boss is a indirect reference to a cut scene from part 2 where she opened her eye(s) so that context would go over a few people's heads Also, I do prefer this over the much requested "Shadow man" just me though but a look back as far as This is a refreshing change of pace. I did like to think this game was a reference to movies 2-4 since in total. Jason "dies" 3 times Also, when is the plushes and Bionicles gonna get a self contained review? Just saying the white one ( forgot his name ) is a favorite of mine in your series

Would love for you to review it sometime. I like the game, but i can understand why it would be pretty challenging at times

@Valientlink

@@jeremyallen5974 Not really. People just crap on it because they're bad at it and don't give it a chance lol. Or the fact that it doesn't really follow the movies well, but that isn't the point. It's just a game where Jason Vorhees is running amuck and your job is to defeat him. It's not supposed to be easy, but it's easy enough to do in under 3 minutes, which is around where my current personal best is. And because so many people crapped on it back in the day, there was no Nintendo Power tips or anything on it. There could've been a whole lot to cover, instead, I was the one who figured out Jason's patterns and therefore allowed a speedrun community to grow in this game.

Hey Jadow. I haven't done this in a while, but I have a suggestion: If you want to, I'd suggest looking at No Straight Roads. It's a music based game where you play as an indie rock band trying to bring down an EDM empire. It has the gimmick where the bosses attacks are tied to the beat of the boss theme (though you can still move freely). I will warn you, the English dub is... not spectacular, but there is a charm to it.

If it's alright, can I recommend reviewing The Monkey King: Hero is Back? It's a $10 game that's around 5 to 6 hours long, but overal has a pretty good design and visuals. The main protagonist, Sun Wukong, is also a character from one of China's most famous novels, Journey to the West. The game was also an adaptation of an animated movie of the same name starring Jackie Chan.

The flashlight is actually completely pointless because you can find the entrance to Pamela’s room by just looking at the rocks on the floor. The rocks in front of the spot where the door is are colored slightly differently (as seen at 14:10 just behind Mark) so just stand in front of them and press up on the d-pad to go through the door. Then repeat the process until you reach Pamela. This technique makes fighting Pamela by far the easiet way to get the special weapons in the game. Killing 60 zombies for a machete takes a long time and while you’re trying to do it, Jason will continue to kill counselors and kids. However, as far as I know, Jason never attacks when you’re in the caves, therefore your counselors are safe while you fight Pamela. I hope that helps. Also, on days 2 and 3 she drops better items like a sweater that reduces how much damage you take. Those items can’t be acquired any other way, that I know of at least.

A lot of people tend to forget that the AVGN is just a character and part of the characterization is that he sucks at games and blames it on the game rather than his own suckage, something that a lot of people do for real. Also if I recall James Rolfe had stated before that the AVGN videos aren't meant to be taken as reviews, this is specially true in newer episodes where the focus isn't on the game but more on the Nerd.

Although all of your points are valid and the game is certainly unfair, I can tell the developers really tried their best with this game. The game is surprisingly accurate to the source material, which is something you didn’t usually get in a liscenced game at the time (and we still don’t always get that in games today). The counselors are vastly outmatched by Jason and must use teamwork to stop him, the overworld map for camp Crystal Lake is very detailed, the woods and caves are easy to get lost in without a map, and the dark creepy cabins you have to wander around in search of Jason can be very tense especially when he jumpscares you! But the biggest piece of evidence that shows how much the devs cares about the game is Jason’s mom showing up in the caves. That part was ripped straight from Friday the 13th part 2, and in the original script, her head was going to come alive and attack the counselors just like it does in the game! Plus, you get Pamela’s sweater from beating her and use it against Jason just like they did in the movie! Clearly the developers were fans of the series and did their best with what they had to work with, so for that, I appreciate it. I totally understand if you don’t like it (and I don’t really like it that much myself) but I find it fun to play every now and then for laughs! Great review Jadow! I love all your videos!

Part 3 (the day after part 2) he's hanged and takes an axe to the forehead- and survives Part 4 (the day after part 3) his hand is split in half, he takes a machete to the eye, and he's hacked to bits- and THAT finally kills him. Part 6 he's struck by lightning and revived as a zombie, only to end up chained to a rock at the bottom of the lake and taking a running propeller to the face Part 7 he's half skeletal and fights a psychic lady that sets him on fire and explodes a house on him.

@@Darklordjadow1 and the late Steve Dash (part 2's masked Jason actor) suffered an injury while filming the scene where Ginny hits Jason with the machete after knocking the pickaxe out of his hands; Amy Steel missed the pickaxe and hit Steve on his middle finger, which meant he had to go to the emergency room with a prop machete sticking out of his shoulder, leading to a reaction of "oh my God!" from the staff, and Steve having to explain his finger was what needed attention instead.

A. If you haven't seen them yet, the Nightmare on Elm Street movies have some really great heights. The first one is odd considering the rest of the franchise but still has chilling deaths. The second is...weird (may or may not be a metaphor for being gay. I say not because I don't feel like Freddy possession is a good metaphor AT ALL) but it's still scary albeit in a different way. Dream Warriors is probably the best one so far and started the series tradition of really creative deaths and Freddy's jokes contain a fuckton of malice and sadism that he comes across like a psychotic monster playing with his prey. Dream Master I hear got fucked by a writer strike but it's still got really good deaths and Freddy's still carrying his malice and sadism. Dream Child is...okay, it's not too good partially because it was influenced by the actress having a child and then pushing some pro-life stuff in a series with it's monster being born from EXTENSIVE rape. Deaths aside from the first and second aren't that good. Freddy's Dead has the power glove. You might have fun with that one (and one death that has what I assume is Freddy's O face.) At this point, Freddy's a bloody Bugs Bunny. New Nightmare was...i don't even know how to describe it. Extremely experimental I guess. Better than the last three definitely even if a five clawed glove looks stupid. And Freddy vs. Jason isn't very scary and has dated CGI....but I think it has surprisingly good action that sells how powerful both monsters are. Finally- Stay the fuck away from the remake.

Oh and the game was also published by Atlus. Dunno who they are? Look up 'Shin Megami Tensei' or better yet, it's spinoff 'Persona'. ... yes, the Persona guys PUBLISHED THIS. Not really much of an excuse either, as the SMT franchise is older than this game.

"But, Jadow~! AVGN already covered this game, even if 'twas a long-ass time ago! Therefore, your opinion on the game is superfluous and redundant!" If you can't tell, I'm kidding. You gonna chain this with "A Nightmare on Elm Street" for NES?

I had a line referencing that in the script followed by a retort of "so? If I was only allowed to talk about things that non big Youtibers had covered, this channel would melt down to that Rendel review that nobody watched really quickly." I hadn't planned on doing Nightmare on Elm Street NES, but it sounds like I have to now. It's not on my bootleg system, but hopefully I can get the old NES working.

@@Darklordjadow1 Covid makes playing physical card games harder for obvious reasons so I decided to make an exception and try it online a little bit, it's not the worst thing ever as long as you avoid the competitive players. It's not ideal but the other alternative is using a webcam pointed at your table and that's cumbersome and lagging is rampant, plus you know for sure your opponent will be cheating with cards hidden behind their table.
