Seeing the same comments I always see when I review a multiplatform game, so... No, the game's problems are not the result of being on the Wii. While I'm told the censoring is slightly less bad on other consoles, the PS2 and etcetera versions still have the garbage filters over the graphics; just easier to remove because the PS2 has Gamesharks. Literally all the Wii version does differently is add the potential to throw lures on accident (I almost never used lures anyway) and it throws a few glitches into the gun aiming, which wasn't that big a problem for me. Setting aside the fact that being ported to the Wii would have zero impact on the stiff movement, the stilted mechanics, the lack of depth to the gameplay, the imbecilic AI, or the insipid story... i.e. the stuff I was actually complaining about! So no, I didn't only have problems with this game because it was on the Wii.

It made sense why James Earl Cash dropped his weapons between levels in the first game because Starkweather told him to or would have guards knock him out and take him to a new area. In this game it makes no contextual sense for Danny Lamb to do the same.

Oh, and one more thing: if you do want to see Manhunt 2's lore and shit you'd best be doing it quick, because the site only runs (poorly) on Flash, and Flash is reaching its End of Life at the end of 2020.

The censor edits hurts my eyes. You deserve so much credit for being able to play through that crap... The editing is the real horror.

I found Manhunt 1 to be unintentionally halarious. The "violent stealth kill" button is the same button as "loudly hit the ground with a stick" button. The washed out color palette made the resulting chase resemble Some Like It Hot.

I loved the fact they actually made this game for wii back in the day - but wii shouldve let you connect the remote to a classic controller instead of the nunchuk. When the game turns to a shooter game it lost me because it was beyond annoying. If I remember you had to point the wii remote to try to center the blue dot which always ran all over the screen , THEN use the nunchuk to aim the gun, then fire with the remote button. I always wondered if there was some secret to mastering shooting with the nunchuk because the aiming sensors were always ridiculously flying all over the screen making it impossible to control.

Great video Jadow! Those execution scenes with the crappy filter over them remind me of The Punisher game for the PS2 original Xbox and the PC. That game has special interaction scenes with brutal executions (with a black and white) if you choose to kill the person after getting the info out of him. The game is pretty good and not a lot of people seem to know about it or talk about it. I believe the pc version there is a mod or something to remove the filter. Also is there a way to recommend games to you? I have a few suggestions for some super hero games. Have a happy Halloween!

Everything you said is basically how I felt about the game (also played Wii version) I feel like this game got more "demented" the longer you played it for: you end up gunning down 100 extra people every new level to the point where you become numb to what you see. What I really like is that in the initial few levels, whenever you kill someone Leo's voice is kinda pushing you to keep going without it being too crazy, then by the end Leo is screaming his head off and cheering you on to kill as many people as possible. The level where you're in the tv studio you hear an audience applauding when you get a stealth kill, it's really cool and trippy. Also I love the neighborhood level the most: the helicopter lights whirring above you as you hide in the shadows, and you hear people in their home's afraid of what's going on is the most effective part of the game. Despite all that it controls like ass on Wii, and the story indeed makes no sense. I would say it's pretty average as well.

Honestly, the main draw for me is the background lore, since Manhunt is implied to take place in the same universe as GTA. Though, in Manhunt 2, apart from reused vehicle assets, there's little to no connections or references in a similar vein as the first game.

This whole "Adults Only" rating reminds me of the 2004 Punisher game. They originally had gotten an AO rating because of the torture/interrogation scenes but then added a black and white filter over them to get an M rating.

Manhunt 1 and 2 are one of my favorite series. I love manhunt 2 but I fully understand your criticism of it. One thing I'd like to say is that as much as I hate the censored version kills I dont remember the filters are they are in your vid. I remember being able to exactly what was going on. Idk but maybe its your settings. Either way I enjoyed your vid :)

Tbh I never expected a game like Manhunt 2 to be on the Wii.

There was one game that Mattmcmuscles played that was simialr to the manhunt series where you were in a prison while horrific monsters killed people. I know he did a gameplay video of it, I don't think he finished the game, but it was going the whole psychological horror document route. found it! The suffering: ties that bind.

Oh my god I have been waiting for this review for so long! As stupid as this game’s story is and more than half of it being a lame shooter, I still play it frequently because it’s fun to sneak around and kill people as a psycho killer not unlike Michael Myers. Even though all the kills are censored, I still find myself going for the most gruesome kills possible because the disgusting sounds that they make when they die is still so unsettling. Plus, I find it very immersive to perform the kills myself with the motion controls (when I get them to work right). My favorite level is probably Domestic Disturbance because the atmosphere is genuinely creepy like you mentioned in the review, and it definitely feels like it would belong in a Halloween movie. I wish that the whole level was like that though instead of forcing you to shoot people in the second half of it. I kind of wish that I could get this game on PC so I can use mods, but the PC version isn’t available hardly anywhere and is extremely expensive.

I’m sorry but I simply do not agree with you regarding the plot. It’s a social commentary on MK ultra. A program still going on to this day. A form of it was performed on me as a child over the course of about two years, against my will. So it isn’t stupid, you just didn’t get it and that’s completely okay. I respect your opinion, I’m just sharing my experience and how I appreciate the plot of this game for touching on the topic. Ps. The Government isn’t after me, and I have never once thought that. Those are the fictional aspects of the game. Alongside the programmed killer thing (at least in my case) it broke me emotionally for 15 years, and I’ve spent that time working through it and getting better ☀️

I enjoyed the first game but this one was a step back from it. The original game was gory with its kills were quick and to the point this game had some cool kills but that's it

I swear to god no joke when this game came out for Wii I got it and the censoring during the executions was there but as a 12 year old at the time I took bad care of my game discs and my cds always got scratched to hell. One day I put the game in and the filters during the executions was literally almost gone. I have no idea why but it was like the filters were bad one day and all of the sudden were like 80% gone. I'm still so confused lol

I enjoyed the first one. The enemies get wise to the old knock the wall tactics.

In Manhunt 2 Danny and Leo cannot get bloodied during Executions or Combat on the PSP/PS2, however on the PC and Wii versions blood sticks to their body after it spills on them due to performing executions to the point that Danny and Leo is almost completely covered in human blood of the people they're killing. To me the PC version of Manhunt 2 is the most superior because it's uncensored and graphically it's supreme. The Wii version is good, however the executions are censored which is abysmal.

Yeah, I always never liked the sequel compared to the original. Having played a bit of the first, it's way, WAY more tense and difficult. The whole "melee combat is simple" thing in the sequel does not exist at all (one on one is a trade of blows, groups of enemies is utter suicide), stealth is much more open and difficult, and the story is way more legitimately gritty and good rather than stupid, edgy re-written garbage. It does get a bit dumb by the end, but that's potatoes compared to this game's rampant dumbness. It still hasn't aged very well (it runs in the old 3D GTA engine and it feels like it), some of the enemy chatter is way more funny than scary, and the shooting is still garbage, but it's miles ahead of the sequel.

Two things, one: screw those censor filters. Two: I think you might actually get a kick out of Hatred Jadow. It grows increasingly preposterous, the achievement names are trying so hard to be edgy, just like the story. Mechanically its not bad but its not good. Just a bog standard twin stick shooter. Its dirt cheep on Steam so its not like you would be out alot of money. I forsee you being able to make some good jokes and skits out of it.

Wow, those censor filters are just awful! Might as well just cut the camera away every single time, you can't tell what's going on either way. Which is funny, because I can't imagine the violence in the game being worse than say, how modern Mortal Kombat or Doom are now. Doom Eternal literally shows demons being cut in half with chainsaws in full view. Or is that not as bad because it's not a "human"? If anyone could confirm that for me I'd be interested.
