You make a good point. Experiences like those in the show connect best with those who understand it. So while it isn’t really for me, there’s something you’re able to take away from it. So in that sense, the show hits harder for you. Thanks for sharing your view.

You’re probably right. Still, I wanna check out the rest of the episodes since while it’s not entirely my thing, it still has some charm to it that can be enjoyed. Even if I don’t love it to the same degree as everyone else.

I don't think it's about me not being able to live in the moment. I think it's more about just wanting a lot more to happen than just exploring. It doesn't need to be one big action set piece after another, I just want them to do more than simply pick up trash or clean statues. I'd just prefer it if things felt a bit more interesting. Like for example, maybe they could spend an episode dedicated entirely to Frieren unintentionally causing problems and both Stark and Fern have to fix it. Simple stories that can get a good laugh as well as grow the character dynamics that feel like they have a purpose. I say stuff like this since, when I was watching the episode where they spent a good chunk of it picking up trash, all I saw was Fern giving some exposition while they were doing just that. Nothing of importance was gained except the festival at the end which could've just existed on its own without the cleaning part. Things like that are part of why I don't enjoy the show. They just have these nice moments that would work better in short chunks but they decide to stretch them out for at least half an episode. But that's just my take on it. Apologies if I wrote too much. I just wanted to explain my thoughts.

@@JGCAnime “nothing was gained” Yes there was something gained. It’s called world building, character development, and growing closer to the characters and mentality of Frieren. If u can’t relate to any of these characters, then u can’t like the show. It’s that simple. It’s not for u bud.

I don’t see it that way, but if you enjoy it, I’m glad you do. It just didn’t work that way for me personally.

It is what it is. Just like people won't like every show you like, the same goes the other way around. That's just how things will be sometimes.

I'm in my 20's and watched hundreds of anime. I'm also quite familiar with the fantasy genre as it's one of my favorites which is probably why watching fantasy shows like Frieren which tend to be a bit slower and not as plot-heavy compared to things like Mushoku Tensei or Danmachi don't sit with me as much.
