Ernie came to the Regal Gentleman Studio as he wanted to lose the curly perm that he'd had for a while. He wanted a "classic gentleman's haircut". Dan gave Ernie a skin fade side part haircut with the parting tailored to Ernie's hair.

another amazing work from dan, loved the mid fade I know so many barbers that would have attempted to place it high but kept with the mid fade and came out superb. the application of pomade topped it off too

It's cut very well but imo skin faces don't suit a very slick classically styled top. That kind of hairstyle always looks better when back and sides are scissor cut I think, a skin fade is better suited to a messier style like how he had his hair before the cut.

@@patrickbatman141 I can see what you mean as an alternative style, I did think the way he came in could be a scissor cut to but was dependent on how much of that hair you would have to work with, no doubt either cut square or graduated like some of his other videos. yet the clients wants a skin fade, the client gets a skin fade.

Up until recently. this was my cut for years. The side/cut part is great for a week or two, until you realize the maintenance required (i.e., to keep it sharp and clean, you really need to go in every couple of weeks). After a month, the heavily asymmetrical aspect then starts to show among other things, which changes the frame of your face. I finally opted for symmetrical tapered fades along with a simpler comb forward that follows the natural outlines of your whirl. It grows out more nicely and is more low maintenance.

The skin fade doesn't go with it imo needed to be scissor cut. The slick perfect top and aggressive back and sides don't suit each other. A very short back and sides goes better with how he had his hair when he came in.

I love your Channel I'm not a hair stylist but for some reason I love to watch people cut hair now if I could just find somebody who can cut hair in my hometown it would be a miracle 🤗 truely! How do I explain to my barber that I don’t want my fade to go in? Because I have a rounder head, I would like to keep hair around the top side so it goes out and not in.
