That's a joke. What this docu failed to mention was that Kenny had ppl on the inside at the port who was helping him sercure paperwork, etc to make exportation possible. I'm sure plenty of bureaucrats were getting their palms greased. Also, as a professional who services these cars for a living, the bozos didn't even understand how the cars worked. "If you break the window the computer is disabled" 😂😂😂 yeah sure bud. Most cars of that era didn't bring a GPS. Hell, most today don't even bring one. A GPS is a customer installed device, or it's installed by the dealership on financed vehicles if the customer is a high default risk. Finally, his downfall wasn't the accident. His downfall was he let the Chinese cartels in on the business. He borrowed money from them, and paid them back (with interest) fairly quickly. Afterwards they approached him, and offered him a partnership. He accepted, and suddenly the pressure was one to bring in cars cars cars. That's what drove him to be desperate and make mistakes. His story is an interesting one, google him.

@@jay.fromthebay Seinfeld was brilliant at parodying real life events, like the episode where George runs over Bette Midler in a softball game, which everyone thought was a plot so Jerry's girlfriend at the time, (who was the understudy for Bette), could get the part. @@mattlarew2100 Morrie was based on real life bookie and mob associate Martin Krugman who went missing soon after the Lufthansa Heist which took place in December/78. “Crazy Eddie is using the 39 stores in his three state empire to line his pocket with millions” Call me crazy, but I would assume anyone with a 39 store three state empire would be lining their pockets with millions. That’s why people have 39 store three state empires. It kind of reminds me when Number 2 was trying to convince Dr Evil that the front organizations for his evil empire were on their own making billions, legitimately. (Including the factory that made miniature replicas of factories)

Plus he only got 10 years and has 40million waiting for him when he gets out. I'd go to jail for 10 years for 40million. Be out around 35 or 30 with good behaviour, buy a farm and retire.

That DA woman is a joke and is so prideful for having done virtually nothing to actually catch him and the operation. LOL "What brought him down was that we were smarter than him." No, no you weren't. What brought him down was greed, a lack of patience, and a stool pigeon. If you were smarter than him, he wouldn't have gotten away with so much for so long. I realize most criminals are eventually caught or at least found out some time after they die, but had this man had better help, there's no telling how much longer this would've gone on.

I worked for a dealer in Queens NY there was a crew of 5 guys. They would take a test drive in car, check glove box where a tag that had key code was. Then after test drive they would walk over to parts department and ask for a new key for their car showing a registration for there car and parts department would cut them a new key for the car they just test drove. When the cost was clear, They just walked up to car and drove away. The dealership lost like 15 cars before they figured out what was going on. The sales man saw the theft in action, he he recognized the guy. He just gave a test, drive to walk up and drove away with the They cough the guy after crashing another car into him a few blocks away. They took all the tags with key code from the glove box from that day on! Parts department check and found they had cut a key for every car they had need stolen. The dealer was Koeppel Nissan!

I think this guys story was the reason gone in 60 seconds was given the green light when in 1999/2000 (there is a 1974 version, but this story had it fresh in American minds). Loved this documentary, just seems surreal & very different to try & do now, almost impossible in cars with complete wireless infostructure, companies like Tesla, change the core system codes as soon as it it reported. The 2000 Gone in 60 seconds was epic too, the cars, "Eleanor" (GT500), the porsche scene at the start was good too. Christopher Eccleston was a magnificent part for him. Equally as good but quiet was our very own Vinny Jones, especially the multistorey showdown with the police. Then, the snake was launched. A bonus was Angelie seducing Nicholas Cage while waiting to boost the car- as a 14 year old at time of release, was the closest I got to seduction 😂
