Interesting, she reminds me of one of my friends and sisters in Christ I met last year, she was a die hard radical feminist, gave her kids pro-lgbt books all out. Hated the idea of religion and used Jesus as her cuss word. Got radically born again one night and peft Canada after the trucker protest. Shes such a beautiful person and God changed her so much :)

I’ve had the distinct blessing to have become friends with Kelley over the last couple years, so I’ve heard her story several times, but she never ceases to impact me. With formidable intellect and a fearless nature, she is a wonderful ambassador for the Lord. Moreover, her voice is absolutely vital in speaking to the evils of feminist Marxist theory. Men who say the same things are dismissed as purveyors of the “patriarchy” who are insensitive to the realities of womanhood. But with Kelley, you get a highly intellectual educated woman who has “been there and done that” and “gets it.” It gives her credibility to speak to critical theory nonsense.

This is why after HS kids should either have a job and work for a few years before college OR go to college part time and work. They won’t have time to get immersed into this type of silliness at college. I worked for a year after HS then went into the military then went to college. I went to college at night first and worked part time while I was also a mom and wife. This was in the late 70s-80s. But I was also raised in a working class diverse area of NYC till I was 16 and I think that helped open my eyes to the world, too. My daughter became liberal in late HS. She lived at home and went to college part-time. Then she moved away to a different city about six hours away. She kept working for the same company and going to college part time while working full-time. She moved into management. And that really opened up her eyes. She ended up becoming conservative again and returned to church! Now she’s married to a nice conservative man and has a couple of kids.

Great interview! As an adoptee, even one who didn’t have a very good childhood with my adoptive family, I loved this so much! I gained a deeper perspective as an adult God was merciful in that I didn’t grow up with an unstable mentally ill mother but she wanted for me to be in a Christian home. Looking back I can see God’s hand on my life through a lot of brokenness and He has healed and redeemed so much! Thank you Kelly for your voice and your testimony!

I am really learning a lot about “tolerance” from these. I fear that I’ve been too closed and upset by people who are struggling with these things and that’s it’s pushed them away. You never think of yourself as a representative of Christ when you aren’t in full time ministry. I need to work on that

This was fascinating! Reminds me of another gal you should interview with a similar story. Keri Smith of the Deprogrammed podcast (you can find her on KZfaq). Late gen X who got caught up in woke feminism in college in the 90’s. She’s now a Christian and fighting woke. Her story is fascinating and you’d probably enjoy interviewing her if you haven’t already.

So so important that we learn to engage with non-believers intellectually; this woman clearly had a hunger for truth and ethical reasoning from day one. Instead of slinging John 3:16 at the non-believer 20 times we need to stop, listen to what our intellectually hungry atheist friends are saying, and engage them on their stumbling blocks with carefully studied apologetics. You still go straight from the Bible, but you are curating and presenting the wisdom in such a way that directly engages with the non-believer’s stumbling blocks. For example, one I like to use is what she said at the end: you simply cannot ground moral duties (to be good, to be non-violent, to follow the law, etc.) if we are just advanced animals. Animals abandon the slowest of the herd and sometimes even kill their own. So if a non-believer starts homing in on Exodus 20 (big shock lol) I say “Who are you to say what is wrong without first consulting me about my ‘individual constructed morality’”? Too lazy to look up the verse, but hey, if it’s just us out here, then everything really is vanity; everything is pointless.

What a fabulous interview! I decided to follow you, Kelley. I've been a Christian since I was 9, but only recently realized Christianity begins at Genesis 1, not at the cross. Your comment on that really resonated with me! Also, my husband was adopted & has found 3 half-sibs. Abortion advocates make me crazy with all their talk that devalues their lives! Dear Kelley, thank you SO much for sharing. It is amazing how your testimony shows how God ties everything at the end for good and uses even the sins of others to bring goodness. 🙏 I am a recent Christian, a therapist and a child social worker and is very clear to me how he is doing that in your story. And yes, you are right: what those women who are pro-abortion are saying is that your life as a child from rape doesn't matter. But not only that. They are also saying that your biological mother's act of love and strength of having you after such a traumatic experience also doesn't matter and the act of love of your adoptive parents of raising you also doesn't matter. They say they are loving people but they do not know what love is. They don't recognize love when they see it. 💔 The amount of selfishness that is at the center of all of this is unbelievable. It breaks my heart because I was myself a feminist, a marxist and an atheist for 18 years, and I had an abortion too. I was told by my atheist boyfriend at the time that it was the best choice. 💔 Thankfully I became Christian 2 years ago and God has been amazingly good with me, I could not be more grateful🙏. Anyhow, I loved your story because it is a great example of how God ties everything together and even uses other people's sins (like he used Judas' sin to crucified Jesus and achieve our salvation) to achieve his plans and his goodness. So cool that Kelley is only a few days older than me (Dec 1, 1973). Of course we have differing stories but were both led to salvation in our "older" years. Me, Feb 2017. I wasn't a feminist but did 20 years in the Army, so maybe in a way I was. I never found anything fulfilling (alcohol, men, exploring other religions) until I knew Jesus. Kelley, thank you for sharing your story.

Terrific interview - perhaps my favorite. No sugar coating the steps of her survival and journey to faith. Interesting, dimensional, and relatable woman with a story that must be told. Her biological mother is close to my age. I remember the early days of Roe, when young teenage girls, hanging out in my neighborhood playground, bragged about their abortions. An eerie time when the closest thing to seeking God, for me, was watching an episode of The Waltons.

She is so engaging! I hung onto every word. Great interview.

I wasn't raised in a cult but my family was a high demand family with a good deal of abuse and neglect. In my 20s I encountered 12 step groups which I experienced as a gateway to new age and highly speculative ideas about who God is. I appreciated Naomi's story and how she focused on the tension between abuse and love, truth and lies, . . . The complexity of humanity that is lost.

32:13 I had the same problem, though my family weren't Christians. I understood the morals, but didn't know 'why not', and no one would answer it.

23:24 I haven't even got halfway through I just have to share how much I identify with Kelley. I had weight struggles and body shaming, I dealt with Greek life and I remember woman's studies classes changing my worldview. I am so glad I turned away from all of that but it was a very well laid trap. Funny fact I was also adopted but by my aunt. I knew my mom growing up but just met my dad 2 years ago.
