interesting to see this in 2023. I've gone from film to digital and now back to film (Albeit medium format and 4x5 LF) shooting digital for snapshots and to save money.

A fifty plus year history of photography. I too took this journey, albeit as an amateur. I dreamed of owning the cameras on your table back then but had to accept the costs were to high for the RB67 (I think they cost as much as a car). I was able to purchase a few film cameras recently and do enjoy capturing some images using filters and doing nighttime work. These cameras have a high learning curve, but it is well worth it. I like to "compose" in my head the purpose of what I am taking, so this slows me down. I look at more angles, get out my Pentax spot meter and choose my film back (Portra 160, 400, HP5, or a fine pan-x). It also makes you write down what you are doing so you can review your wins and mistakes as there is no metadata (except for the film type). This is a nice alternative to my digital photography which I also enjoy shooting. The remarkable thing is when I am shooting film outdoors, people come up to me asking what I am doing as if I was creating magic. I appreciate the content and your options, very informative.

Really great history lesson Wayne. Great to hear the story from the perspective of someone that's spent most of their life doing photography. I find it amazing that none of the Kodak brass could figure out they needed to buy or merge with Canon or Nikon to prevent their own demise. I guess hindsight is 20/20. I recently purchased an old Yashica MAT 124 TLR to dabble with film photography to try something different from digital. Enjoy the content you put out. Keep it up!
