Front Bumper Removal EASY TRICK for Chrysler 200 & Pacifica! 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020

I've removed thousands of bumper covers while doing auto body and paint work. This one was tricky, and had me stuck. Here's a trick to remove it:
Insert a flat screwdriver between the retainer bracket and the lip of the bumper cover. This will release the "grab tabs" and allow the cover to be pulled outward from the fender.
Without prying the retainer down, it won't release, and feels like the retainer will break (brittle black plastic). Insert a flat screwdriver in, and pop the cover outward from the fender easily!

dude props you made my day !!! my 2017 pacifica headlight swap so E Z with this tip as soon as i stuck that flat head in there and pulled it popped out with a small tug on the bumper cover.

Surrah - That's why I made this video! I searched for two days for a video or instructions showing the trick. I was sure there was another fastener I was missing! I was so thrilled and relieved when I figured it out, that I reassembled it and made a video! More to come!

I had this problem when i needed to remove my bumper, You actually don't need a pry tool or anything, I Discovered there is a PIN sticking out, that the bumper cover clips to on the corner it is the inner hole on the bumper cover you see, if you just push the bumper to clear the pin, the bumper comes off,easier than with the screw driver there.

There is a piece of plastic on the 2017 Pacifica Touring L fascia that bolts to the headlights. The clips from the fascia go into the plastic on the headlights. We can get one side lined up but not both. Have taken it apart and tried on the opposite side too. Very difficult. Looking for suggestions. Thanks for replying to our question 👍

That's exactly the plan! Since 08, cars started being built with a 10 year life before they start to biodegrade. New cars may be down to a shorter expected life at this point.

The plastic on these newer later model cars dry rots much faster now; So stupid how these cockroaches in high places WANT the automotive industry to self-destruct by forcing carmakers to have unnecessary modules, chips, computers, cheap plastic, poor mechanical design, & now forcing all cars to be electric, making sure we can't fix our own cars and that they dont last longer than 8 years!🤷‍♂️

Do you have any experience with the rear bumper cover? 2017 Pacifica has me stumped. Your trick worked to remove the covers on the sides but the bumper cover seems stuck under the rear cabin seal. Thanks for the video and any advice.

The Bumber has a wiring harness, I couldnt figure out how to disconnect it. the harness i think is for the parking sensors.

Catalyph - You're correct. It's a crazy harness that I had never seen. I got it disconnected with the help of a screwdriver as a pry tool. I'll make another video showing how to discomnect it next time I have one in the shop.

Yes. You'll have to at least remove the side you're working on, and pull the bumper cover away from the car to give you room to work.

Yes. I'm doing my halo install video soon. But you need to remove the bumper to get to .. get this .. ONE retaining screw. All bolts to remove are on top. There's a final screw on the side (silver) that allows you to slide the headlight out. The bumper needs to be cleared ofcourse. Now... that's the (right side) as your looking at it. My video will explain both sides. Since the left side has the intake tank blocking it.
