Bobo is definitely one of my absolute fav hydrangeas…they will grow fast in no time. Unlike other plants, hydrangeas need about 1-2 seasons to get to a decent size. Bobo grow to about 1-2 ft next season. Happy gardening 💚💚💚

Every time I watch your tours, I think how lucky your neighbours are to live by such a beautiful landscape! My neighbours turned the house into a rental and don’t even mow the lawn. We also have a shared garden space near the sidewalk that they let invasive grass grow into - their ENTIRE half is planted w/ this bully grass that I have to pay people to weed out of my side. It’s a whole thing. We planted a “wall” of hostas (since it’s under trees) last year though and that has helped a lot to keep the sides distinct. They are selling so I have all of my fingers and toes crossed that it’s not another investor (or if it is, it’s one who takes pride in their rentals). 🤞

We are very lucky to have neighbours who like to garden and maintain their lawns. I think gardening is a lot of work so it may not be suitable for everyone. I was the first person in our neighborhood to start gardening and many have now been motivated to do the same (in their own way)…so our street now looks and feels very inviting…we have kids playing on the streets and people walking their dogs all around…and that to me feels very nice.

Tracy your garden is beautiful! As a hydrangea lover myself I am mesmerized and breathless every time I watch your videos. I am wondering what kind of pots you’re using for overwintering hydrangeas?😍
@TracysHomeGarden
@TracysHomeGarden Жыл бұрын
All the pots I have are plastic and they can stay outside in the winter without cracking. Just make sure the containers are 16-20” wide and deep.

Plants look suuuper healthy! I don't know is it because of your irrigation sistem or you Tracy hand water your plants, or you feed them all well or it is not too hot where you are?! - but plants are wonderful and loved and healthy, not sunburned🧐 Here in Europe, Croatia is terrible weather and all plants are hurting in a way🤐 Or too much harsh sun or not inofe of water..soil is cracking and water just goes thro the holes🤪 not to poor roots of the plant..and the air is so heavy, like your in desert. So my plants are not beautiful like yours, and i watch every video and i try to do it just like you👍 Loved every second of video.

Thank you Sabina! I do have some hydrangeas in containers at the front garden where they get full sun all day and the pots get dried up so fast that they leaves and flowers burn. I think we are lucky to have few weeks where our temperatures get to about 30 degrees C…and the rest of our summer days in the 20C. Our summer season is also very short…fall like weather usually starts in early September for us. Perhaps that’s the reason why our plants are able to thrive and not get burned as easily?

Do you start your seeds indoors or direct sow in pots and the ground? Your garden is spectacular.

I start some plants like my peppers indoors but I sow all the annuals outside in late winter/ early spring.

Beautifully done Tracy!! The music was the perfect accompaniment, plus very much appreciated you labeling the plants!! 💚 Question- can the potted Bobo’s remain outside all winter and if so do you water them or are they dormant? Also, wont the pots crack from the freezing temperatures? We’re in zone 6b.
@TracysHomeGarden
@TracysHomeGarden Жыл бұрын
Yes, but my containers are all recycle “plastic” that are made in Canada to withstand our freeze/thaw cycle. I think they all have multiple years warranty. I have some containers that are more than 10 years now. The Bobo hydrangeas can stay outside during our winter…I put all the containers hovered together right up against our southwest wall of our house where they will be protected from the cold wind.

@randyman8984

I am wondering if zone 9 may be to hot of a climate for hydrangeas? You may have to grow them in full shade. Do you see alot of hyrangeas in your area??
@TracysHomeGarden
@TracysHomeGarden Жыл бұрын
I think Randy may be right, in zone 9 you may be able to plant some late bloomers like Limelight or Fire Light Tidbit in partial-full shade.
