Cheers for unravelling the logic behind their decisions, havent bothered trying to unlock this yet as I already have mod-shards and mod-plasmas.

I see it as a win for being able to agf mod ALL guardian tech. Fsd boosters for short jumpers are no longer a 1-way jump

I miss doing passenger rescue missions. They were my go to when I was burned out from doing spire sites. I am looking forward to bringing back rescue missions to the menu!

Thank you for the informative video, very interesting. Myself, going back to the very beginning with Frontiers take on weapons that were "allowed" to even hurt the thargoids and the limited number allowed to put on a ship told me this was a poorly thought out and I have never bothered with any thargoid activity besides rescues from a burning station once. I do not know any other players who are bothering with it at all. Will be happy to see it end and move onto something else.

at least now all guardian module can be engineered, so FSD boosters, distros and powerplants, which is a good thing. I use FSD boosters to increase jumprange to bombers, but they always fried backward. Still very expensive though.

You can get the revenant material with your ship using collector limpets in spires

@@Datan0de The splash damage from AX missiles works. Aim to hit the ground just to the side of the Revenant so that the blast hits it's underside. I found it pretty annoying to do, as the drop rate is low and the limpets can get lost fairly easily with there being so much ground clutter, but after my 2nd run at it I had enough Tactical Core Chips to outfit 2 full loadouts of Guardian Weapons. (Which I still hadn't done yet because of the damage penalty.)

@@MisterLindsay To add to this, it is important to note that dropped core chips can also be destroyed by your rocket splash damage so it is best not to fire large volleys of rockets. You'll see your yields go up if you take your time and fire one rocket, destroy 1 or more revenants, wait for collection, repeat. I was getting very low yields until I figured out what was happening, smacked myself in the head, and changed my behavior.

Military ground bases in occupied systems have unlimited number of revenants which could be easily killed by scorpion srv with cover of wall. I've grinded about 18 tactical cores in about hour. Absolutely enough to engineer all of the weapon that I have

@@Tepnox but beware of the banshees. One could also guard settlement. It won't respawn but it killing can be pretty challenging. I killed it first with the scorpion from 800m so revenants can't assist it. It takes lots of time but pretty safe.

You can also kill revenants at spire sites with AX missiles and use collectors to pick up the chips, it's still slow and annoying but doesn't require the SRV.

​@@papabrouI've tried this method and don't like it. Limpets constantly crushing at the ground and obstacles banshees spamming with their shutdown missiles and scouts can attack you too. Also revenants in spire sites aren't respawning

What does the AGF Ram Tah engineering with the guardian modules? The weapons clear, they don't get damage. But the modules didn't get it already. Is that defend the modules for shutdown to do not loose the stats of them? Overall is that gives a reason to use the guardian modules what are commonly not used at all?

For me its the power draw and heat in titan space, guadian weapons run hot or draw to much

Shards (the original ones) are actually exceptionally low draw and low heat. Gauss and plasma … different story entirely

Greetings all. I have engineered shards that I use, mainly, during the meltdown of the titans after the destruction of the core. Honestly, I think it's worth it, with one small catch... to be effective, we have to synthesize premium ammunition to compensate for the 20% loss in damage. My question is: will I have to re-engineer them so they don't lose 20%, or will they be automatically updated? Thanks for the explanation, always very useful, as is your habit! o7 cmdr

from patch notes: All weapons previously modified with the damage reducing modification have automatically received the improved modification

The problem with the anti guardian field being experimental is that the default weapons have no other engineering option, so how would you apply the experimental? It would make them salvation weapons only

Just do like heatsinks … give them a G1-only ammo cap or otherwise inconsequential engineering so you can apply the experimental effect

I tried the planetary combat zones a couple times. I didn't like it. Not as much fun compared to space based because of the gravity of the planet and how it affects the ship. I'm too used to fighting in space. I might try it in the chieftain. Krait got real sluggish.

Try Shards Anaconda. Planets with less than 0.2 G are preferable. Combine this with missions from the port and possibly Powerplay Bonds Bonus = Bling Bling Chaching!

OK. I shall give that a try. I forget I aquired a bunch of shard cannons for an anaconda. Haven't played with it yet though.

For me personally Im not gonna bother getting the weapons engineered, simply because I'm far away from getting the right engineer unlocked. And the grind to unlock the different engineers is for me at least pretty darn boring. Se ya all out in space 👌👌

I hear ya. That it what I love about this game. It can be whatever you want. If you want some motivation, I started playing the game in April after Leigong ploded and just before Indra I came back from Colonia unlocking the last of the engineers. They tend to snowball if you do them in a particular order and mat gathering is really easy after you break a certain ceiling. If you have done the grind for a Corvette it'd be a shame not to fully engineer it. To be fair the mat gathering for Ram Tah's guardian weapon upgrades is a pain but at least you only have to do them once each

Do you know if the 20% decrease in dps to Guardian Weapons - is removed from things already engineered? Or do we need to engineer again to remove the 20 % dps. Does Ram-Tah do Guardian modules yet? That passive lighting resistance on a size 1 guardian hull / and modules is probably the best thing in the game for combat, especially for small ships.

It is retroactively applied to the ones you have engineered... Ram Tah pushed out a software update, essentially.

@@PsyTechnical I've tried the Guardian Shards on Titan Vent, they did not seem to do more than the AX missiles.

@@orderoftwelve You need to be close. Maximum 1km away from core so all shard pellets hit. They WILL do more damage than Sirius AXMRs, but their limitation is ammo.

FDev, a shorthand for FDevil or plain FDevil. They ruin the gane and drive people off from the game and waste the company's investement in programmers' hours and effort.
